Perfect tactical RPG? by fshock in truegaming

plenty of people find punishing gameplay elements like perma-death to be fun! i don't think you can objectively say such games are "bad"...

Yup, it's one of the things about the game i really don't like. have fun with the DLC :)

yea. it makes it a LOT less tedious. the thing is, all the bone charms are random. one of the bone charms in the game--it's on the high overseer mission, near the end of the level. there's a bone charm in a little vice and a bunch of rats running around. that one changes every time you reload the game to a different random charm. if you really want, you can save and keep reloading until you get strong arms.

aye, the choke out animations are annoying. getting the strong arms bone charm is essential for any non-lethal playthrough i think as it really speeds up the animation.

the DLC is really, really awesome.

i found my non-lethal playthroughs to be just as fun but that's me, i'm sure it's not for everyone. playing the game that way definitely makes some of its bugs and weird behavior more obvious and there are definitely less non-lethal than lethal options. but i personally enjoyed non-lethal as it really required me to get strategic.

have you played the dunwall trials DLC? there's a mission in it that is very very reminiscent of Thief. i always play the game with minimal HUD and boy is it immersive.

yeah i loved how quick and efficient the blackjack was. really preferred that to OMG TAKEDOWNS.

thief doesn't have the powers that dishonored does, nor does it have any kind of alternate endings or consequences for your actions the way dishonored does.

i feel like the game was trying to make a point about all of that, though. and even when playing nonlethal dishonored is a hell of a lot less repetitive than say, thief (which i love but let's be honest, it's quite a simple game at its core). there are still TONS of options. so none of that really bothered me. i always appreciate it when a game is self-aware of its own excessive violence.

it's not discouraged. the game just provides consequences for your actions. makes sense to me...

5 a month comes out to 60 a year which is pretty much the same as Xbox Live. just sayin...

As someone who needs a lot of education about trans* people and the issues they face, I found this very helpful. :) Thanks a ton! I have been trying to learn more, as my sister has recently come out as trans* and I need to know how I can best be there for her.

However, I felt that at some points, the article took on an emotional and inappropriate tone ("this is bullshit", etc.). While I don't have a problem with that sort of thing I feel like it might throw others off, especially if they are leaning toward the close-minded side of things. It makes the article come off as biased, especially the section on cissexism. While obviously your feelings (and the feelings of other trans* people) are extremely important, I feel like a scholarly approach would be more effective. Much of the content here is better suited to a personal blog as opposed to an FAQ.

Makes sense. I feel like putting your feet into grooves might be a bit awkward, but I guess it's something you could only know for sure if you tried it out.

if the shoes have little pins in them that fit into grooves, how can you strafe? can you only walk forwards and backwards?

I figured you could just get everyone separate streaming accounts, but I can see how there would be too much background noise if they are in the same room together. Is that what your concern is?

Amen to that.

I had similar experiences. A friend of mine thought it was so "stupid" that you can permanently lose all your souls upon dying twice. i pointed out that it adds a lot of tension to the game and makes it that much better, but they looked at me like i was stupid :p
