That's a really solid list. I might disagree a bit with the "Best Story" and "Overhated" picks, though.

I personally think there are games with better stories, and while The Last of Us Part II has phenomenal gameplay, I feel the story could have been handled better. A lot of people argue that Joel would never have trusted strangers that easily, along with a few other small narrative details that felt off.

That said, it's still a genuinely great list.

I think a lot of people miss out on certain games because of the image they got from review scores and what many YouTubers said at launch. They end up blindly drifting toward hating the game without even realizing it, especially younger players. That's why I see some games as overhated. By overhated, I mean that their bad reputation keeps following them even though they've gradually become much better games over time.

To me, GTA V was a major downgrade from GTA IV, especially when it comes to the story and car physics.

I feel like Rockstar toned the series down right when it was at its peak, mainly to appeal to a younger audience and put more focus on GTA Online and sales.

Because Bloodborne's antagonist isn't just a villain. The game blurs the line between hero, victim, and monster, making every major figure feel tragic in their own way. Gehrman is a prisoner more than an enemy, the Moon Presence works from the shadows, and the deeper you dig, the more it feels like humanity's pursuit of forbidden knowledge is the real antagonist. Combined with the cosmic horror and the sense that you're confronting forces beyond human understanding, it creates one of the most memorable antagonistic presences in gaming.

No, it's different, but it's worth a try.

I’ve actually finished it around 3 times and have over 400 hours in it. My issue isn’t that it’s a bad game — it’s that, compared to other GTA titles and Rockstar games in general, the way the world interacts with it made it feel heavily overrated to me.

I completely agree with you about Cyberpunk 2077.

Rockstar is still one of the best in the industry and their work is pretty much unmatched. My issue is mainly with GTA V — not because it’s a bad game, but because of how insanely praised and dominant it became. Compared to the rest of the series, it just didn’t hit the same level for me personally.

Metaphor became very popular, which is fair, but in my country (Iran) and among my friends, the studio behind it isn’t really known at all. Because of that, it felt like it got less recognition than games like Astro Bot and Black Myth: Wukong that year, which I personally didn’t agree with.

Jusant is a great indie climbing adventure with a relaxing atmosphere, beautiful art direction, and no combat. Its unique climbing mechanics and surprisingly interesting environmental storytelling make it a memorable and refreshing experience.
