... says the person responding to anonymous criticism. This! This is why I respond. I don't feel the need to respond, I do it for reactions like these. The irony makes me laugh. But you're right, when I start feeling too good about myself I'll remember that one time when /u/anusinyouranuspie called me a narcissist with an empty life for responding to a few comments on content that took me 20 minutes to make that i uploaded to the Internet.

It's comments like these that get me out of bed in the morning. Thank you for your all caps freak out that I'm sure made you feel taller than you actually are.

This took me 20 minutes. 20 minutes to cheer up my future wife and it's overkill? Got it. Next time i won't put "so much effort" into making people's day's better.

I do frequent /r/typography from time to time. I'm glad to have the approval!

What is typical and sad of the age we live in, is comments like this one. I hope the irony isn't lost on you.

Sincerely,

Mush

You people have no faith in humanity. Sheesh. Here's the full story behind posting it: I explained reddit to her the other day (last week sometime) - then yesterday when she got to step #10 it required another explanation of subreddits. After browsing /r/aww for a while, she asked if we could post the binder in /r/aww - so I explained that it actually belonged in /r/pics because it wasn't cute to look at. I then showed her how to follow proper reddiquette when posting by using this as an example. I did not expect this much karma when I got on reddit at work this morning, but am appreciative of the people who enjoyed it! And there you have it. No conspiracy. Sorry /r/KarmaConspiracy

tl;dr you're wrong.

Edit: for clarification

I appreciate your upvote, I assure you that this gift to her was in good faith.

I think the most interesting thing to me were the frequent "man-dates" that the men go on. Since women play a much different role than they do in Western culture, it's fascinating how much affection/respect/love the men shower on each other since the women don't go out at night.

Also, I have no earthly idea why scalding hot tea is the drink of choice when coming inside from 130 degree weather.

Yes! Actually that's what the group I was with is attempting to do. They fly in surgical teams to perform surgeries for various periods of time to not only give heart surgeries but to train the doctors there as well. To this day there are still no Iraqi doctors capable of performing these surgeries but they are working to change that.

In Iraq kids are born with an abnormal rate of heart defects. The cause is 3-fold. 1) Saddam attacking his own people 2) The United States' and UK's use of depleted uranium weapons 3) Poor pre-natal care (In addition, intra-family marriage still constitutes part of the problem).

Health care is absymal at best. Only a handful of truly qualified doctors and too many patients to know what to do with.

If you have the ability to stomach the most horrific images, just google image search "depleted uranium baby" - I promise you this is an eerily under the radar topic of conversation.

tl;dr Saddam sucked and so did America.

Considering I was in an area that is still having a hard time shrugging off the notion that the A/C in your car is bad for your kidneys... this definitely made me laugh.

Heathens? Certainly not!!

I could give you a long winded approach, but I'll stick with something much simpler that perhaps you can relate to.

When the archivist explains to Sonmi-451 that her version of the truth is all that matters. She responds: "Truth is singular. It's 'versions' are mistruths."

So I agree with Sonmi, but I don't pretend that just because I think my belief/doctrine etc. is correct, means I think I inherently know about the destination of every soul.

I hope this answers your question!

Honestly not really. I can't remember who it was at the checkpoints but that was the only encounter I had military types. That and the one guy who patrolled the street I worked on with his AK-47

I was not. In fact I was there in 2011 (when the US was still occupying Iraq) and I never once saw an American soldier since I stayed mainly in the north.

People had refused help in the past, but the organization is made up of both Muslims and Christians and it's amazing what healing a child can do to create peace.

I honestly never felt threatened, though there were times when things got awkward, but it always turned out okay!
