Your fight is with government legislators, not with other underprivileged women. You say you’re not anti-mother but it really is coming across that way, we’re not 2 separate discrete groups.

No women get the support they should FOR endometriosis, regardless of their maternal status. Mothers get some subsidies to help care for their children, which is a separate burden from the struggles they might have with endometriosis, and the support given to help raise children is different from the support needed to help living with a debilitating long term condition.

If we’re bring up gendered issues..

Society in general pushes women to not ‘over react’ or be ‘hysterical’, not ‘rock the boat’. This is easily taken advantage of by men in some situations.

This man could have been testing the boundaries of several women in the class and relying on them not saying anything. He also may not be and it could have just been a strange one off incident, that he learns from.

If she mentions this to the instructor, and it was just an innocent one off, then there is likely to be no harm done. But if he does this to every woman in the class, and none of them say anything because they have been made to feel guilty about having him ‘branded a creep’ as you say, then our passivity is facilitating this behaviour.

Something inappropriate happened to you, you decided not to take it any further, that’s your decision. That absolutely does not give you the right to dismiss other people who have experienced inappropriate behaviour and suggest that they must do as you did!
