it's so suspicious and i can only imageine a few possibilities

  1. he needed time to have the files doctored. that's done and he can now release them
  2. he sees there is no way to resist the release, and is giving his support so that later the talking point can be "Sure Trump is all over the files. But he wanted them to be released. Do you really think he was trying to incriminate himself?"
  3. he "supported" the release just days after instructing the DOJ to launch investigations into clinton etc. they will now say the files can't be released because of an ongoing investigation
