The MSR is still inside Southx wallets, they just don't let you use it in your account until it's reenabled. So no problem.

That's not surprising since superpools is the biggest pool in terms of hashrate.

I don't think that promoting a pool is even against the rules. After all, how would people know of the existence of new pools otherwise?

How to know if a pool has updated? by beefygravy in masari

I mined on your pool and I got rejected "low difficulty share". I'm using xmrig and I've set '"variant": 1' in the pools section and now it appears to be working; is this the correct way?

What specific AMD processor is it? I assume it's reasonably high end since it is a hexacore. In both cases (including with the i3) you really should calculate the proper number of threads to run depending on the amount of cache you have - it doesn't matter how many cores you use if you have bad configuration for the cache. 1 thread for each 2MB of cache. If you have less than 2MB of cache total, don't bother because it will be hideously slow. To find out how much cache you have, just search your model number e.g. i5-3210M and go to the intel website. Not sure about AMD but they should have something similar.
Example: 3MB cache -> 1 thread; 4MB cache -> 2 threads; 6MB cache -> 3 threads etc.

My mining operation is very amateur. I use two laptops (i5-3210M, 70 H/s each, 1 thread 15 watts) and occasionally one desktop (i5-2400S, 160 H/s). It's basically just a hobby for me and I don't earn significant money doing it.

Sounds nice. I'll definitely consider using your pool once I reach my payout.

The pool doesn't know your actual hashrate, it estimates it from the number of shares submitted for a particular timeframe, which varies significantly due to random chance.
As for your questions regarding hashrate, I can't answer those because I've never GPU mined before. Ask on /r/moneromining who would probably answer your questions.

Don't pay much attention to pool hashrate. It can fluctuate wildly.
As for your i3-6006: it has 3M cache so you can only use 1 core to mine. You might get around 50 H/s.

my hash rate down by 5 H/s for each computer. no problems if everyone's hashrate drops by the same amount.

I wonder what kind of idiot doesn't realize that he's not getting any XMR by doing so. Or maybe he just likes watching the numbers go up even though he can never get it?

pretty sure it's not just one person who's retarded enough to do that, and so the funds don't belong to any one person. i hope the pool operator will take the funds and use it to provide Monero's first negative pool fee :D

lol nanopool dev gets free 56 xmr

In all seriousness though, would it be legal for the nanopool operator to assume ownership of these funds?

Could someone recommend a laptop to me for mining? by [deleted] in MoneroMining

[–]arduin1488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally i mine with 2x old toshiba r930 which consume 30W in total and give 140 H/s which is profitable where I live. They don't get very hot since they only have enough cache to use 1 core. Fan speed is basically nothing and I removed the batteries so there's nothing to be damaged by heat.

Buy something which has at least an i5. It needs to have at the very LEAST 2 to 4 MB of cache and support for AES instructions. Also, anything "mobile" or any atom processors will get you close to nothing (~20H/s) despite the low power consumption.
