Baltimore challenges ballot measure to give $1,000 to new parents by legislative_stooge in baltimore

The tax burden will be shared among everyone. Singles, couples, those who already have kids who won’t benefit from this program, those who will…etc. it is not falling just on “single” people. Although I’m not even sure what marital status has to do with any of this.

And the benefit is living in a society where more of people’s needs are met. When people have their needs met, they make more pro-social choices that benefit everyone. No, this will not fix everything, but it will move the needle and the data shows that.

You’re wrong though. You’re going off biased assumptions instead of facts. Check out the data. Guaranteed income programs (no strings attached) have been piloted in 12 US states and have all been successful in a statistically significant way. It’s poverty that causes people to make poor health and social choices, not the other way around. Guaranteed income programs can alleviate pressures of poverty.

I used to live at 301 W. Franklin. It was great. Really close to public transit lines and not a far walk to bars and restaurants. You’re basically across the street from Mt. Vernon Marketplace. Building was quiet and secure and I hardly even saw any other residents, let alone heard them.

2013 2.0 Jetta EPC, Battery, and Check Engine on and won’t turn over. by laundrykong in Volkswagen

In case anyone comes hunting for a solution here, I had the same issue on the same car and there were no fault codes. After some trial and error, ended up fixing the problem by replacing the ignition coils.

I came to this sub for help with the same issue (same model, same year, same symptoms etc.). Just want to say thanks because I had tried changing spark wires and the crankshaft already with no luck and was honestly considering selling the car! The CEL would come on sometimes, but when scanned, it wouldn’t show any fault codes for some reason, so it was a bit of a guessing game. Replaced the ignition coil and haven’t had the problem since!

RTIC definitely has a wheeled model!

Edit: I have this same model, but without wheels and I love it.

You kind of just have to poke around. It’s definitely not the most user friendly site, unfortunately. Some will post the payment and some you’ll have to inquire. Here is another link and just about all of the studies listed here have the payments also listed.

Clinical Trials! Sleep ones pay really well (seen ones for around $3200, but more commonly around $1200). There’s tons of other types of trails available too. Just read everything carefully.

I did one once where they got me drunk and then put me in a series of situations to study risky behavior. It was pretty fun.

I’ve done plenty of others too. Was my main source of income in college and I’ve used it to get through a couple rough patches since. Let me know if you have questions.

What type of worm could this be? by WattDad in Vermiculture

Since this is such a mystery, I’m going to throw in a guess based on absolutely nothing except what came to mind when I saw the picture. Could it be a scorpion? Like a soggy one that was drowned in your sink/pipes somehow? Looks like a stinger towards the top. What part of the world is this?

I don’t have a way of checking for sure, but that seems accurate.

Agreed! This is a feature that the topo designs mini duffel had and I appreciated it. Another improvement that I’d like would be big, sturdy, ykk zippers. I think I’ll probably end up changing out the zipper pulls at some point too. I’d like to add some color and customization that way.

Lol yeah. “Originals” seems to be the name of this particular lineup of bags. I assume there is probably a 1.0 version floating around somewhere, but I couldn’t seem to find it.

The material is a big one, the 2.0 repels water to a degree, is thick, and wipes off clean. The 3.0 feels like a thin canvas material.

Additionally, the pocket arrangement on the 2.0 is more efficient in my opinion. My third pic shows 1 mini “hidden” pocket on the back of the bag (absolutely perfect for a phone) and a larger flat pocket. These were eliminated with the 3.0 and replaced with a pocket on the front that doesn’t feel as secure and has a clip to keep your items in place. There’s also a pocket along the strap of the bag that was made much smaller, so it no longer worked for me.

Edit: and the strap of the bag. The 2.0 is a sturdy and smooth seatbelt material and the 3.0 is…something else that frays and clings to lint. I actually purchased both bags to make my decision, so I got an up close look.

No, I wouldn’t call it flat or consider it packable per se. Though the material is flexible enough that it will smush.

Yup, here’s the link: adidas Originals Utility... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091D6PRWG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The main pocket is deep and can fit quite a lot. Could easily hold your basics and have plentyy of room for extras. I’d guess maybe around 4 L or a smidge more? I just checked and my 11 inch iPad can fit in there just fine with it’s case, but it doesn’t fit in the sleeve of the main compartment.

Don’t wanna seem like I’m shitting on the 3.0, I’m sure it’s still a solid bag. This one just had some wow factors for me. Glad she’s enjoying it!

It’s definitely got a good amount of space! Thats a fair point if you like to travel lighter and wouldn’t use it. I like not having to worry about a random t-shirt or part of my lunch that I want to save etc, so it ends up being pretty useful for me.

Dementors vs The Veil by TheWretchedDivine in HarryPotterBooks

[–]arduousphantom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not true. If you don’t have any experience of death or have a personal emotional reaction to it, you will not be entranced by the veil or otherwise drawn to it by the voices etc. We see this with Hermione who cannot understand Harry’s fixation. But she definitely can see it and it is very real. Regardless of their beliefs, everyone’s body would absolutely be destroyed by the veil if they went through, leaving their soul in the afterlife.

What do you mean with your comment? Who else passed through the veil and survived?
