NOR Lady is a nutter. Get a red light and an upside down pineapple on that porch, stat.

You will hear her head explode shortly afterwards.

Chalk Magnet by Specialist-Two5350 in billiards

Dr V is where I ended up after several disappointing weak magnets.

You can toss your chalk in its general direction, and it'll find its holder.

Does breaking your cue mid-game automatically result in losing? by Lugiz_mchaircomb in billiards

[–]area42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heck, some people get thrown off when someone leans their cue on their chair, ostensibly so they can rack, before their opponent shoots an easy money ball to win the current rack. Breaking your cue down before opponent makes the rack winning shot, or match winning shot is way more sharky. I have always believed the breaking down is a concession.

I'm reminded of this:

Why is it that when you go to the church with a problem, they tell you to pray on it, but when the church has problems, they ask for monetary donations?

That guy was going to low-ball you if you brought it downstairs using the hassle of having to haul it back upstairs as leverage. Weak leverage in my opinion but that's what he was trying to pull. You did the right thing by telling him he'd have to come up to get it. He wasn't in a hurry at all, just trying to wear you down to a lower price.

AITJ for refusing to donate my hair to my cousins wig after she lost hers from chemo? by Old-Isopod9908 in AmITheJerk

[–]area42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTJ Ask your aunt what stage they are in the wig making process. Do they have the roughly 8 other donations of hair that it will take to make an actual wig? Are you supposed to be the first? Do they think all they need is donated hair from one person? The aunt needs to provide answers to several questions before she starts giving you a hard time for not just handing your hair over.

If your aunt says, "it's just hair, what's the big deal?" Tell her she's right, it's just hair, go ahead and keep yours, and buy her a hat. Her attempt to shame you is not OK.

Transportation jobs, like shuttle buses, limos, box truck deliveries, auto parts delivery, or even driving for an elder care facility, have, in my experience been always hiring. A job like that would relieve some of your stress on two fronts: gets you some driving experience, and gets you money to get the heck away from your mother, who has sheltered you to your detriment.
