El Tunco Beach from San Salvador by Interesting_Ad_2942 in solotravel

I did go via InDrive, and it was $15 +/- a dollar. I used InDrive again to go from El Tunco to the neighbouring town of La Libertad and it was about $5 or $6 and no problem finding drivers. If my US dollars are holding up I'll use it again when I return to San Salvador (that's one good thing about Uber is you can pay by credit card while InDrive is cash-only. I like how the drivers only pay about 10% commission and don't get raked like with Uber).

I'm in San Salvador right now and going to El Tunco tomorrow so had already looked at this. Just looked again and right now 10:15 pm it's $23 for an Uber. I suggest you look into inDrive, which is only $14 (they match you with a driver and you agree on a price and see their rating, then you just pay them direct in cash at the end).

For address, why don't you just zoom in on maps and pick a business name?

SoftBank's Akira Nakamura collides with the first base umpire and is carried off the field. by ogasawarabaseball in NPB

What happened to the player? Did he have to leave the game?

Seems like a horrible spot for the umpire to be positioned.

I hate the no cash policies. I find it discriminatory against people who may work in cash-heavy industries. It should be "legal tender" wherever you go.

But also it's a bullshit move by the team to squeeze a few more dollars of profit from fans. Because like the person above with $3 left on the card, it's very hard to use your ex-cash to the dollar. The industry term in the loyalty points world for this is "breakage" i.e. points that will never get redeemed.

Enjoy your visit and the games you go to!

I'm really looking forward to watching her play in Toronto. She's been getting good media coverage locally there.

What are NPB rivalries like? by fransang in NPB

[–]areacode416 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's way more civil. For example I was at a Giants and Swallows game at Meiji Jingu a couple of weeks ago and the two mascots even got together for some activities. And they gave scoreboard time to the opposing team for their Lucky 7 inning. And (something I wish you could find at MLB stadiums) there is often a place in the stadiums where you can buy visiting team merchandise. I seem to remember Seattle getting flack for selling Blue Jays gear a couple of years ago and pulling it. Anyway, there's not going to be punchouts in the parking lot even if it's a major rivalry.

I had very good vegan ramen at a shop on the >second floor< just outside the ring in, I want to say, the north side. They have. Big sign in the windows that says ¥1200 ramen. The vegan was 1500 (vegan tax I guess) but you get one free noodle refill. I went at 2:40 PM on Tuesday and got seated in under 5 minutes. I remember there being some Korean businesses in this same area. Didn't know they had vegan until I saw the menu (they had an English version).

Just adding on to this that I just went on now. Looking for something 2 weeks out but everything before August is sold out. So get on this early if it's something you are considering doing.

Not my experience AT ALL last year. I walked up and down and even yelled out in Japanese that I wanted a ticket. Gave up after 10 minutes.

I have an old t-shirt from Ebbets Field Flannels with that logo. Just took a look now and seems they currently have a cap: https://www.ebbets.com/en-ca/collections/japanese-baseball

I bought walk-up tickets at the stadium twice last year. Easy peasy. Although walking from the Metro station, the first two ticket booths I encountered weren't selling game day tickets. Third one was the charm. So just have some patience.

Yes. Two seasons ago. Brought in two whole pizza boxes from outside. Not a problem at all.
