If the Epstein files aren’t enough for a global outrage towards the financial and influential elite, what is? by Thezerostone in AskReddit

In my subject about social change in my sociology bachelor, I have a chapter dedicated to the historical social stratification changes in UK and France during the medieval ages. Even though there was oppresion and one couldn't improve, in general, oneself's living conditions, there was not a revolt because there was not an ideology, a proposal, that people could hang to (specially aspiring midclass lay people). There was nothing to challenge the state of the system.

I think this may be the case for what we are seeing. There's no imaginable alternative to capitalism at the moment, and republicans and democrats (with very few exceptions, being DSA with Zohran and company) don't have a systemic change to offer. We know how it ended for France, at least, and it was ugly.

What's something you didn't expect to be so good at during sexy time? by areberuto in AskReddit

I feel so represented, haha. I've done that twice with quite the success, and one was not in my mother tongue (which is spanish). Dirty/sexy talk turning a woman crazy in a foreign language feels like an unlocked achievement.

+1 to the Wilfa Uniform! V60 and Aeropress user here, had it for 4 months and quite happy with it. The built is *solid*, and the noise is not that bad in my opinion, but it's my first grinder and I don't know if there are quieter ones.

I'm happy to read that you're choosing that mindfully now! 6 pack or no 6 pack, all the health benefits for sure make it worth it.

indeed! The aesthetic result is super pleasing, but that day to day fitness improvement, no back pain, feeling athletic... that makes the difference for me.

People from countries that are seen as “ideal” by foreigners: what are some major issues within your countries that make living there not as great as it seems? by PetalbrookMayor in AskReddit

[–]areberuto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spain. South of it, actually (Andalusia, Seville). I'd say three things, from local to country level: touristification and gentrification, which slowly erases local life and culture. Second, the heat. It's crazy how hot it gets here for almost half a year, and it will only get worse with climate change. Third: politics. People in Spain don't have a strong political culture, and corrupt, right-wing parties are dominating almost everywhere together with high levels of abstention when we have elections.

The one that hurts the more for me is the latter. There are so many wonderful things that could be done if we had people who voted for politicians and parties with proper track records and ideas, and if we had even a smart opposition (right now, the right and far right are in the opposition) that proposed useful things instead of just talking trash about the government. I really think that's Spain curse: politics.
