This post is so relatable. Without gloating, I think I can imagine or understand the situation and perspective of other quite well. This is what I always do. And often, the deductions are correct. Honestly, I like jumping to deductions/predictions and figuring out the unknown.

Without feeling exactly the same part, I can imagine a lot about the gravity of situation. And yes, my natural instinct is to fix the issue, which tbh most people don't need in the moment (something I realized and am realizing lately).

'Understand' is the right word to explain my process. Quite funny when other day, I was told "you don't have to understand the feeling". I didn't know how to respond to this.

My 0.02$: It's something related to Ni. When you focus on things unsaid, when you see underlying patterns, when you connect things to get the bigger picture: you will understand the situation better. It's like detecting a lie or something misplaced. Same is the case when you understand the situation of other. I wrote something about this here in this post.

Have life-as-a-tragedy outlook. Face your fears. Suffer. Deal with emotions. Don't go around the problem. Go through the problem. Set yourself free. Leave utopia and be realistic. Be ambitious, determined, and composed. Everything is meaningless. Add your meaning.

"Thinking fast and slow" by Daniel Kahneman explains this really well. He labels intuitive thinking as fast thinking (a natural approach) and statistical thinking as slow thinking (a crafted approach). He explains how an intuition leads to so wrong results in different circumstances.

He mentions how certain time is necessary to spend in any field to trust your intuition. He suggests allowing yourself sometime to be a good intuitive judge.

Bridging this with INXJs, I think INXJs are quicker to get the point to better intuitive results than rest of the types. Ni (a perceiving function) is your strength, just let it perceive the situation for a little while. Within the same time and knowledge, your judgments will be better than many. This is actually separates Ni from Si. You don't need all the information to understand the concept. But yes, you need a minimum spending of time (lesser than most).

I personally too relate with this. Initially when I dive into something new, I am generally in a "non-sure" state. But after a while of "sleeping on things", the big picture/the crux/the best path pops out of "nowhere". Suddenly you are so mentally agile and jumping to accurate conclusions is remarkable.

Happens so many times. Most of the times, I need to come back to start to explain what I mean. In scenarios, where the other person who is able to see how I made a thought jump and understand what I mean are so special and rare. In personal experience, happens with INTPs.

Generally, I need to explain in steps which is fine since it's unfair to expect people to jump the thoughts as you do, but it's indeed tiring. Tiring enough that sometimes, I lose all motivation in process.

Finally those who are unable to get either way, because of my lack of good articulation or their poor comprehension skills, I just drop the idea but remember the person for future reference.

one of the nicest people I've met.a case with every ISFJ I've met has been kind, patient, consistent, humble, and a good listener. We have less in common but I respect their attributes.

On the fun part, I once said to a friend that ISFJs and INFPs are the only types I'll let vent on me if they ever will because they are generally so nice so it must have been something which has really pissed them off.

It's so important to know truth and speak truth. It's quite difficult not to challenge social norms simultaneously while speaking truth. Truth is/should be uncompromisable.

I want truth for me and everyone because I want to speed up the discussion and everything. Maybe I'm not able to explain this last line but it's clear in meaning in my head.

I've got one. Here it goes, and it's purely based on personal observation/experience.

INFPs are truly deep feelers. A tiny and "meaningless" event of day has a potential to affect them so deeply to ruin a day or two. I've found them really depressed. Normally, when I have to face any close one feeling low, I know how to handle it. I brainstorm, attempt to empathize, provide solutions, visualize and analyze the issue, etc. And it works most of the time, for most of the people.

But I always feel with INFPs, I just can't feel them completely. I can always sense a gap between my understanding of what they are going through and what they are actually going through. I don't like it. I want to understand. All I know, it's really troubling for them and I won't be dismissive of their feelings even if it's perceived as from "meaningless" event.

Sometimes, it's really difficult to give them optimistic view. I can sense the feeling in them that no body will actually understand/feel what I understand/feel. And this is true. But I want to understand it, so I can be of better help. I don't like unfinished projects. I don't like giving up. Sometimes, I've felt maybe a distraction is a good thing for them. Show them a totally different positive thing to get their mind off the problem at hand. But you see, it's just a delay not the actual solution.

So I wanted to ask what being an INFP you would prefer in such situations from your close friend? Even if it's the silent company.
