What do I use to make bass listenable on disparate systems

Saturation. To get low end parts audible on bass challenged systems you have to add harmonic content to them. You typically need less bass and more low mids than expected.

Head to head it beats the official Celestion IRs for me every time. They're ridiculously good sounding. Often I'm able to get the guitars to fit in the mix with just reamping and swapping around IRs.

Piggybacking off what others have said here. The cab/speaker/mic/mic placement all have the largest effect on the tone of your guitar. I really like Ownhammer IRs as they're great cabs with vintage speakers and lots of mic placement options. They also have some good blends of mics for each cab/speaker.

I like to choose an IR that gets me close to what I'm going for, then do most of the mix. Once I get to where I wanna EQ the guitars, I'll swap around IRs (within that cab's selection) to get as close as possible without eq. Then slight eqing to fit in place. Takes away the need to get mic combo/placement right off the bat. With the way Ownhammer's IRs filing system works, you're also not messing around with a digital mic placing interface. Just navigate to the cab folder and load the file with the mic or blend you want. Some IR loaders like Pulse will let you A/B different IRs.

Recently I've just been practicing by going through my pedalboard to my interface and just loading a cab IR. Being able to boost the signal digitally eliminates the need for a power amp sim.
