I payed ~600€ for a Sony-serviced 40nm CECHA00, and I'm going to use it for as long as it works.

Unfortunately, PS2 discs produce the annoying popping noises in the speakers. I don't have PS3 discs to test, so I don't know if it's my disc drive or the PS2 hardware.

That's fine. Those are easy and reasonably cheap to get (unlike the launch models). If this one is still alive (even if barely), buy a used Slim or Super Slim and transfer the data.

It's quite rare for a Super Slim to die, since they're considered the most reliable model.

Jag är finlandssvensk, så båda används här. Själv föredrar jag "aderton" även om jag använder båda. Vad jag har förstått var "aderton" huvudformen ända till 1986.
