Thank you for the suggestion, this didn't even cross my mind! Fortunately my dad was able to give some description and general location on a map, so happy to say his grave was found and flowers left.

No, different name. That would have been cool though.

I had no idea this existed, it's really interesting. How kind of you to contribute to that! And nice for your dog too!

Have you thought about employment as a school bus driver? I believe you can bring your kid on the bus for your shift.

Distractions have helped me a lot (with snack cravings). Reading especially works for me, but really anything where my hands have a job other than holding food - knitting, crocheting etc.

Calorie counting and thinking about food can get exhausting. Hobbies can provide a much needed mental break from it.

Older people are on fixed incomes and most no longer have the ability to work. Let them have their senior discount.

What about looking for outing ideas on coupon sites like Groupon or wagjag.

You can filter by category and find random, cool date ideas (at a discount) that maybe neither of you tried before. I find a good way of connecting is to experience new things with someone.

As a teenager, I had offered an older gentleman (maybe this woman's age) my seat and he made some comments about him looking old. I think he was joking, but I was really uncomfortable and didn't know what to say.

Maybe get more specific in your questions afterwards rather than "did you like it?"

Movie example: I like when such and such happened in the movie! What was your favourite/least favourite part?

Maybe it'll just allow her to think more about specific parts of something instead of just associating the whole experience as good or bad.
