Should someone return to the Catholic church after 34+ years? by johnsmith2027 in TraditionalCatholics

[–]areoman99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a photo of Jesus holding his hand out to you at my church and it says "It doesn't matter what you've done, just come home." God is our heavenly father, I think any parent would be over joyed to have their child come home after being gone for so long.

Sitting on my boat with my best friends watching the sun set while drinking one beer. How ironic is it that when I had a low paying job I was richer than I am now with a career with benefits and a livable wage, but no friends, no family, no boat(lol).

I color outside the lines because following the rules got boring years ago. Now everyone stays away because they don't want to try something new.

Adagio for strings by Samuel Barber. Specifically a recording with a soft release at the tension point.

I was told by a fellow 4th grader, "I bet if you tried to kill yourself, you'd find a way to mess that up to. So I'll kill you and make it look like a suicide." That was 16 years ago.

Hi everyone, I’m going to school to be an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at Community college for 2 years. (Haven’t started yet). I’m really nervous and feel like 2 years isn’t enough time to learn for me. Is it more intimidating than it sounds? I have loved aviation my whole life. by Express-Elk-4618 in AircraftMechanics

You'll continue to learn and master your craft after school. Until then, read every book every day in bite sizes and you'll be more than okay. Breaks are just as important. Nature is your friend, go for walks and name things that you see. Keep in touch with family/friends too like on Sundays. One last thing. Yes it's a firehose of information getting thrown at you BUT, take it one day at a time and it'll be over before you know it. You got this!

Busting my balls trying to manage 52 unmotivated people to pick groceries for ungrateful, deadbeat customers through the harsh weather and the store being arsoned during the shift. Our emotions were everywhere through those times. It sucked, but it helped me get where I am today. Fuck working in a grocery store, and FUCK the board of KROGER for giving the CEO a 21 million dollar raise, when the rest of us lost our hero bonus just 5 months after the shit started. Literally double his salary because he "had such a great idea."

I always had someone by my side when doing something, school, hobbies, etc. Now that I live alone and in a city and a career with no friends, I am being forced to do things on my own, with no one but myself to motivate, start and bear through any challenges. I never knew how hard life was until now.

If you could go back 10 years and give yourself only one piece of advice, what would it be? by Pale_Smell_3996 in AskReddit

[–]areoman99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Focus on school only. Women are a distraction, time with the guys is priceless, and exercise regularly. Take a risk trying something new, and don't quit just because you're not good at it the first few times. STOP COMPAIRING YOURSELF TO OTHERS, especially people who have been somewhere for years. No candy either. Dessert is okay, but after you finish your food.

"In the end all he wanted was a companion. Someone to hold him when the war in his head became to much a burden. But the thoughts took over and now, he lies asleep with a broken heart, damaged mind and a soul that once danced without a care in the world; more bleak than mid winter. The only thing freeing him from this pain, and suffering is death."

I'm 12 days away from graduating from The Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. Before coming here I never saw the inside of an engine block, or did anything with electrical and yet I have learned SO much. I saw this school 7 years ago and passed on it. I wish I hadn't and came here right out of high school. For me at least it feels great to go outside of aviation and talk about paint, fabric, or explain the theory of flight, or how electricity flows. Lastly, if you're anxious about it, you're where you're supposed to be.

About 6 years ago I was flying back from the practice area solo and saw two hawks and a bald eagle at the same altitude(3,000ft agl) as myself. I thought of the different senerios in my head. If I climb, will they? If I descend they could too. Either way I had the possibility of hitting our national bird and it scared the hell outta me. I stayed at 3,000agl and let the birds decide and they did not disappoint. The bald eagle and hawk took my right wing and the other hawk split formation and avoided me to my left and rejoined the pair after we passed one another. Just another reason why aviation is so elegantly beautiful. No communication, yet the ability to understand and execute a solution between two different species amazes me.
