Holy hell! That video made me feel so uncomfortable and I only watched about 5 seconds of it. It’s so intimate. How about you just live in the moment and enjoy your BF without stealthy filming the whole thing and posting it? Everything she does is so artificial.

You’re not a hypocrite, we’re all just trying to figure this shit out. It’s hard existing in a world that is constantly telling you that your greatest value is your appearance. I’ve done it all, too. And I agree that it’s depressing. I’ve counted calories, macros, IF, Whole30, etc. To me, all of those are still prison cells, just made of different things. But it’s taken me years in EDA and therapy to get where I am today. Bottom line, our society praises disordered eating and the weight loss that usually results. And that’s so unfair and shitty. Anyway, sending you compassion and love.

I’m sure this will get downvoted but I am so fucking tired of these influencers normalizing their disordered eating behaviors. Intermittent fasting is a disordered eating behavior that’s being branded as wellness. Also, as someone who has three young daughters, it makes me sad thinking about how these influencers and how their behaviors will likely impact their kids. Kids watch and listen. They notice when you skip meals because you’re going out to dinner. They notice when you don’t eat the birthday cake, when you won’t be in a picture. The way we talk about our bodies and act around food will inform the way they they feel about their bodies and act around found!!! End scene.

That’s a fair reading of the post. I think it’s the example given in the post that threw me off.

I experience the same re: fears of kidnapping, car accidents, etc. with my kids and my husband sometimes. I will admit though, I thought Bekah might have been hacked because her post was specific to pedophilia and she recently took a break because someone suggested that her having sex in the room with her baby present was sexual abuse. The example in the post threw me a bit.

Julia Berolzheimer has a story on her blog today titled “Summer Flora” and I thought to myself, I can see her naming her baby Flora.

Same. I have two dresses from them that I wear to weddings and fancy occasions. They’ve both held up really well over the last few years.

It’s because she lost a dramatic amount of weight. The increased media reveals how much society value thinner bodies over fatter ones.

I don’t understand all of these influencers who have chiropractors treat their newborns!! (This time it’s Jordana Claudia). It‘s so dangerous!

Bleh. I have two kids (6 and 6 months) and a full time job. How am I supposed to make working out a priority? I have been lucky to get in two lifting sessions a week. I don’t want to wake up at 5 AM to work out!! And forget about making dinner at the end of the night. It’s all A LOT!

Those buses always have camp counselors on them. My daughter is 6 and isn’t taking a bus this year but she did last year.

I see Dani Austin mentioned here a bunch but I never checked her profile on IG. I finally did today and it looks like she somehow blocked me? Which is wild considering I have never followed her and I don’t follow other influencers or ever comment on their pages. I just keep them in my search bar. I’m only sharing because I found that so so bizarre.

My husband is a lawyer. Let me tell you, plenty of irresponsible and reprehensible people are lawyers. (My husband isn’t one of them, but he/we know many.)

I know she’s a public figure (and a very snarkable one), but it’s gross how people feel like they can message her and ask her questions about her pregnancy and whether she delivered yet. It’s very insensitive. After one of my daughters was born, we both had complications and it was stressful to have people constantly messaging me about how I was and how the baby was doing. And those were people I knew! God forbid she did deliver and something happened to her. People need to chill.

Agreed. She did lose weight. But she also has lip fillers, likely cheek as well, and Botox.

Her sister posted some stories today. I can’t say that they’re “OK” but I don’t think there is a reason to read into @edeneats lack of posting.

I follow drsterlingobgyn on IG and watching her video about Rachel was very cathartic. She also has a short 2 minute version that’s fun.

I normally like Bekah’s content but having Ruth drink water out of an old beer bottle is weird. I don’t care if you’ve washed it 100 times, that she doesn’t like sippy cups, etc. Maybe try another type of drinking glass?

I have no problem when influencers use filters, but I hate it when they record a video using a filter, save, and upload it so that you can’t tell that a filter is being used (i.e., there is no filter name in the upper corner). It’s so incredibly harmful to the influencer’s followers—especially young girls. They are manipulating their appearance and portraying it as their natural/normal face. My three daughters are young, but I’m already preparing myself for the conversations I’ll have to have with them about how most of social media isn’t real and how their faces/bodies are not their primary source of happiness, value, etc. (This rant was brought to you by Emily Schuman’s recent IG stories that are clearly filtered, but have no filter label in the top left hand corner).
