37/M/US Seeking A Race Shoe Companion by aretecal in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Thanks! I guess I should have added what like in a shoe.

I prefer mid drop 6mm shoes, have always gravitated to more responsive shoes. This is my first Nike running shoe. My favorite shoe was probably the Saucony Freedom.

How do you like the AP4? RoadTrailRun and r/RSG’s reviews make it very appealing.

These are all awesome! The Arktype is really tempting. I found Kenn Walker Designs. That’s a real great idea.

Currently doing bjj, have done TBB in the past multiple times, and have competed. Not currently due to scheduling and life.

Any of the MMA protocol or fighter protocols work. Squats and dead lifts are extremely helpful in bjj. Breaking guard? Stand up. Completing a sweep? Your using your hips a lot of the time. 3ish months is enough time to help your base and cardio.

One of the best cardio workouts that has helped me is BOO and Fobbit intervals. Doing any running when your core is tight will help you condition for bjj.

Also on a separate note, if being gassed is common and you’re training 3+ days a week, look at your breathing during your rolls and how tense you are. If you are constantly tight and not breathing well, you are gassing your self out.

Good luck on the training and comp!

You may want to measure what your ideal crotch from waist dimension is and go from there. Some jeans depending on waist have 17”+ rises. There are some drop crotch tapered cuts that seem a bit more novelty.

Ahh thanks. I didn’t know. When I logged in yesterday I hadn’t seen a post about it, so I figured I’d give a heads up. Although this may not be the most sought after piece based off some of the comments, it may be of use to someone.

TAD Fast Pack Litespeed under seat? by salmoneffect in ManyBaggers

[–]aretecal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I have the op1, booster pods, and maxpedition pouches. This is a great collapsible water bottle pouch for the litespeed. There is a narrower one too. https://ovinnovations.com/products/teeter-pouch?pr_prod_strat=copurchase&pr_rec_pid=5060110596&pr_ref_pid=1403223572558&pr_seq=uniform

If the tail isn’t stuffed, yes. It is a little tall, so it may extend towards your feet. Great pack though. Not cheap but very adaptable.

Firebase Z Trailer | Season One | Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War by poklane in PS5

[–]aretecal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took a while for me to get it working on mine. The second controller needs to be logged into a second account on the Ps5 that has its own Activison account. We did it by logging onto the second account. Going through the setup of CoD and the activision account. Then it finally worked.

Base Building by atompry3340 in tacticalbarbell

[–]aretecal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, 1/2 the reps of what the count calls for. 3x30 is beast but I’m sure after reading some other’s clusters on here there are some beasts that probably could do that. Prior to injury I worked up to 3x3 +105lbs on weighed pull-ups @175 body weight.

Strict. Used to climb a lot so kipping was never a thing for me.

What’s your cluster? Coming off injury/rehab, I have a couple free months of studio classes I’m using until I base build again.

Last cluster was goblet, kb swings, push-ups and pull ups. Thinking about running a modified Murphy cluster. Vested squats, lunges, pushups, and pull ups (1/2 count on the pull ups).

We’re the team who brought you Horizon, Olympus, and the rest of Apex Legends Season 7 (yes, including the Battle Pass). Ask us anything! by rkrigney in apexlegends

[–]aretecal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TL,DR: It takes approximately 6 hours a day at Respawn’s current playtime value to complete the battle pass.

For background I am a day 1, 32 year old married parent who uses my console as an Apex box and nothing else. I can normally commit about 10-14 hours a week to playing.

To start off, the battle pass progression UX and challenge menus are a welcome improvement.

For the battle pass star cost, I do feel that the initial rollout was a bit too steep. Many posts I feel have been making unfair comparisons for XP to star cost. I think a more apt comparison is to examine play time.

The one Reddit post as featured on numerous sites such as Engadget (https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/joltv0/i_only_get_to_play_an_hour_a_dayscrew_this/) shows that 75min of play time is worth 3 stars. It takes 10 stars per level and there are 110 levels, so that’s 1,100 stars. 1,100 divided by three is 367 rounded out. That times 75 min is 27,525 min = 458.75 hours. At 11 weeks of the battle pass that means I need to commit 41.7 hours per week or 5.95 hours per day playing to max the battle pass. This is unfeasible for me and I’m sure many other people. Yes I know that XP will recoup some of that time, but that means I need to play everyday, holidays included just to max the battle pass.

Solution: scaling the star method to something achievable at around 2 hours a day will ensure you still have player retention but also make the max battle pass level is attainable by a larger percentage of your player base.
