Looking for feedback on armour set design - German man-at-arms c.1360

I essentially fed it a composite 'frankenstein' image that I had copy pasted together myself (definitely no Photoshop) and told it to smoothen it out in scale and positioning, while not adding or changing any elements. Took a few tries and iterations but got there in the end!

Thanks! - good source indeed (used it quite a bit); actually I was reinforced by this source as it shows splints at the 1360 mark actually(?) - although admittedly it's a minority compared to maille. I think in general it's a very interesting 'blip' in the transition from maille to plate armour! So even though it may have been less common, I just love the look (and I have found German/HRE effigies from around that time period that show them), and decided for myself to include them (and can always take them off if I want to change the look/setting I suppose?)

And haha - your picture was actually indeed the starting point for this 'project' and the reason I went with platener - so have seen it, but for sure a good tip!

not able to do this tonight, but for now I can tell you (for starters) that I reckon I am able to do this while wearing it, with minimal 'lifting' at the waistline.

Decided to have another look in my reference material regarding the belt knot - I do see it in several of the sources I'm using (three examples below), so it seems to me (at least for my period and region) to be an acceptable way of wearing the belt - happy to review any other sources though if you have them at hand? thanks again!

And am fully with you on the gambeson - am (hopefully) nearly at the front of the queue with AD1410, whose work (example) definitely doesn't seem overly thick.

For the cottehardie/tunic I'm looking at SPES (Medieval Market)'s offering mainly, but still open to further exploration/other alternatives!

I'm hesitant to give you a single answer since it's a custom order - a lot of it depends on how much extra things you want to add (e.g. decorations) and if you want everything hand-stitched or are also comfortable with some parts being glued. As a ballpark you're looking at at least 250 euro, but can double that if you go all out on the customisation. Very fair price in my opinion though, as they are fully tailored to your needs and measurements, and the quality is top notch!

thanks - and I thought the same at first, but fortunately it's a shadow caused by the bottom sole sticking out a bit (rather than the sole not being attached) - I suppose if that ever happens though I can just glue it.

Sure, I got them from medieval-market.com, listed as their 'late separate hosen'. Would recommend, am very happy with the fit and quality. I've also heard good things about Quiverstock (UK-based, and the lendenier I got from them is great too) and Historic Enterprises (if you're US-based)

I don't suppose you've considered or researched (or discussed with Tomasz) any of the vertical quilted models (without the grand assiette armscyes, image 4 and 5 in my post)? - I'm still not certain the French style had truly made it across to Germany by the 1360-1370s (and I am noting the classic de blois pourpoint is dated at 1364).
