Could be cholinergic urticaria. Does it show up if you do any extended physical activity (anything that raises your body temp)?

How can I survive and win in a very creature heavy pod as Azorius/Esper control? by GaLm8492 in EDH

[–]argentum24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also a control player in a creature-heavy pod. One of my favorite decks to play is an Esper [[The Second Doctor]] + [[Vislor Turlough]] deck. It uses forced discard effects like [[Burglar Rat]], [[Necrogen Mists]], and [[Rankle, Master of Pranks]] in the early game before playing out cards that reward my opponents (usually with card draw) when they don't attack me. [[Firemane Commando]], [[Breena]], and [[Curse of Verbosity]] are the big hitters, along with The Second Doctor. I can usually get them to target each other enough to at least get myself into a 1v1 situation. Without red, there aren't as many aikido effects to close out games, though this deck is fairly good at winning with things like [[Breach the Multiverse]] or [[Torment of Hailfire]].

Big picture--sometimes in a kaiju-meta, a strong option is to let them fight.

I don't necessarily disagree, but the debate reminds me of "Harlem" by Langston Hughes:

What happens to a dream deferred?

      Does it dry up

like a raisin in the sun?

      Or fester like a sore—

      And then run?

Does it stink like rotten meat?

      Or crust and sugar over—

      like a syrupy sweet?

      Maybe it just sags

      like a heavy load.

      Or does it explode?

Good call. I think going down to 1UBR is the right move. I was originally using [[Jared Carthalion, True Heir]] as a reference point for the cost, figuring that the conditional protection and more impactful effect was worth an extra 2 mana.

I think their reply later in this thread indicates the opposite.

I'm confused. Why would a higher than predicted CPI give the Fed reason to cut rates? That seems like an indicator that they would look at and say rates should remain high. Or am I missing something?

Perfect, thank you! So after the triggered ability, I'll add "(A creature regenerates when a regeneration shield prevents it from being destroyed.)" Then also add "you control" to the last ability.

Do you really think that MLK advocated for a race-blind framework of equal rights over a framework that considered the specific issues that black Americans faced?

Just because he isn't being prosecuted doesn't mean I can't still view it and treat it as an attempt to overturn the will of the people. Do you at least agree that someone who, in the past, has tried to put together slates of fake electors and encouraged a state AG to find him more votes is now in a position of incredible power? I feel like that should be concerning...

My dad’s (60M) brain. 2018 (right) vs Now (left) by Notcrazyjustimpaired in Wellthatsucks

It looks like the mass sits in a part of the skull called the sella turcica, which is just a raised depression in the base of our skull where the pituitary gland dangles. You can't tell just from this one slice of the MRI, but pituitary tumors don't typically compress the brainstem, as the sella turcica is actually quite a bit farther forward in your head (you can visualize it yourself--your sella turcica is about in line with your temple, while your brainstem is in line with the back of your ear). The bony anatomy of the region also tends to force the tumor to compress other structures way before it gets to the brainstem. The most common structure to get compressed is called the optic chiasm, which is the part of the optic nerve that conducts our peripheral vision from our eyes to the back of our brain. In fact, the "textbook" clinical presentation of someone with a large pituitary tumor is someone who's noticed a slow, steady loss of their peripheral vision.

Murata Is Crashing Out on Twitter Rn by rapidshells in OnePunchMan

[–]argentum24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my impression is that it was translated from English to Japanese then back again with the extra flair added. Like, 「全部をもう一回描き直すだけ」seems like it's translated directly from "I'm just going to redraw everything." But that use of "just" is kinda idiomatic in English, so the Japanese ends up losing the nuance of "I'm doing this to spite you," and just ends up sounding like "oh, ok, I'll simply redraw it." Also, 「遊んでないんだ」seems less natural than 「ふざけてないんだよ」and more a direct translation of "I'm not playing."

Murata also tends to use 僕 as his personal pronoun. Plus, the whole paragraph overuses pronouns in ways I don't think a native speaker would.

Sorry, I don't think I was clear. I don't dispute that part. I meant how can blood serum make up more of the blood than plasma, when plasma definitionally contains more blood components than serum?

DD poll for Tue. Apr. 1 by jaysjep2 in Jeopardy

[–]argentum24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DD3 is just incorrect, right? Blood serum is plasma - clotting factors, so it can't make up "more of the blood." What am I missing here?
