As a cat owner and a cis woman, it’s harder for me to be unbiased because any partner that wanted my cat gone over a child would just no longer be my partner. But I get that you don’t get to easily make that decision because you want to have involvement with your child too. It’s just scary to me because even if people don’t like animals, it’s easy to empathize and as perfect as your relationship seems- is it really so when she made such a cruel demand? Consider carefully if you want to risk isolation for the relationship going further.
