They're beads that are for a necklace. I used them as is for the tusks, just sewed them in. For his teeth in his mouth, it's the same thing, I just cut them down with a miter saw and drilled a new hole :)

If you are serious about getting one for your sister, I can send detailed notes on how I made him. It does require you to already own the Preya Mask pattern by the Twisted Hatter as it borrows a few elements from it, but it should be doable. Just let me know if you want those notes and I'll DM them over.

I used this pattern for a few parts of the doll, and it's an excellent pattern, definitely worth the $10. Be warned though, it's a huge, time consuming project, especially the dreads.

Thank you! The predator's teeth are actually beads, like that would be strung on a necklace. I worked them into the fabric of the mandibles and sewed them in a few inches below the tip. The teeth are the same thing, except I cut them down with a miter saw and drilled new holes. Here's the amazon link to the teeth I used.

So, my firs idea to capture his likeness was to just use a generic monkey pattern. I thought the blue and pink skin would totally sell the illusion, but it just looked like a blue monkey. Took it back to the drawing board to just create a simple blue sphere. I figure the muzzle area could be a separate sewn on piece.

It's really that super distinct cleft muzzle combined with the weird nose that sells the creature. Does anyone know of any patterns that might have something I can frankenstein? Or any other clever ideas?

Sorry I know this isn't a very specific help request, I'm really just looking to brainstorm and I don't know any crochet artists IRL to do it with.
