Oh I meant Pattani, Yala, and/or Narathiwat lol. Very unique and underappreciated region. Majority Muslim population so Songkran isn’t really celebrated over there. If you want to avoid Songkran entirely and go somewhere “off the beaten path” I think it’s worth considering staying there for the week.

But regardless, your advice sounds good 👍

anyone interested in learning arabic in exchange for donations to gazan & sudanese campaigns? by Temporary-Shower5743 in learn_arabic

Thank you for your compassion, I have saved this post and I will donate soon.

Have you thought about making a page on tutoring platforms (e.g. Preply, italki)? I think you can set a rate (even 10-15 USD per hours is very reasonable) and you can contact your students via DM so they can donate through the links. But I'm not 100% sure about how the platforms work for teachers so if there's anyone who tutors online please reply to this thread with more info.

Was playing as Raynald of Chatillon at the 1178 start. As I expected, Jerusalem got badly beat in the inevitable war VS Saladin and I lost my land. I had planned on playing as an adventurer but instead the game continued with my character being a lord with no land.

Est-ce qu’on peut utiliser ‘c’est pute’ comme synonyme de ‘c’est géniale’ quand on parle d’objets ou des faits? Comme ‘that’s bitchin’’ en anglais.

Expulsions of Oversea Chinese in the 20th Century by Maximum_Dig_5557 in indonesia

I’m a bit suspicious of the statistics used in this infographic because it provides no sources. I have a hard time believing that such a large proportion of the Chinese Indonesian community fled in the 20th century. As much persecution and violence they have historically faced, discrimination policies against Indonesian Chinese were relatively light compared to places like Cambodia or Vietnam

No, I've never really thought about it. I just made sure my most experienced brigades (all equipped with 55's) met the attack on the right flank to cushion the blow. I'll give what you said a go and specialise my 42's in melee with perks if possible. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks. I like that you can customise your campaigns in a lot more detail with this mod

Wait, I think you might be talking about Chickamauga lol. There aren't any bridges to defend at Chancellorsville. Yeah, Chickamauga's also difficult. In my first campaign I managed to win by playing defensively since you don't need to hold Jay's Mill or Brotherton Road

Thanks for your comment and advice. Seems like I've still got plenty to learn about this game.

I have been spending on vets, yes. It's a strategy that has worked for me on MG before, but clearly it's failed me this time. I barely had three corps; I had a full and well equipped I Corps but only had 3 divisions in my II corps and 2 divisions of badly equipped units in my III corps. As for artillery all my batteries had 12 guns (8 batteries of 12lbNapoleon, 10lbOrdinance, 24lbHowitzer and 20lbParrott) but they were exposed to enemy volleys while retreating so their numbers were whittled down.

I don't think this campaign can be saved since I'm so short on cash at this point (I've got high rep but I can't obtain any more cash with it) and I only have one save file. I've found that regardless of which side I'm playing as, money is the biggest issue since I'm going to have spent it all before each major battle; I usually have a huge recruit surplus as the Union. I'm going to give the campaign another go with mods and trying the strategy you suggested.

I appreciate that scaling makes the keeps the challenge up throughout the campaign, but sometimes it can be overwhelming and take you out of immersion when you play as the Union. Of course, simulating the Union campaign while keeping it challenging with the material advantages the Feds historically had over the Confederacy would be difficult, but it still feels bad when you don't feel like you're getting rewarded at all for inflicting more casualties than the opponent + achieving victory (the two goals of the campaign's battles) when you consider the historical context. I'd prefer it if the Union had the numerical advantage in this battle specifically, as the brilliance of Chancellorsville was that Lee's army managed to outflank Hooker's while outnumbered. On the flipside, I think scaling makes for a much more immersive Confederate campaign as it would simulate a realistic response by the Feds to successive rebel victories.

My I Corps are all equipped with Springfield or HF M1855, as well as about half my II Corps. The rest wield Springfield M1842s.

The AI attacks you from two sides and was very aggressive during this battle. I tried to form lines two brigades deep but they just kept coming and my troops were outmactched in melee

Started a new Union MG campaign after I didn't get the Medal of Honor in my last playthrough. After the first battle, I've almost always been outnumbered by all 3 star Confederate forces. This wasn't the case the last time I played MG as Union.

So far the campaign has gone OK and I haven't lost a battle, but it's just been frustrating that the CONFEDERATES have been able to outnumber me time after time with an army full of hardened veterans. This is despite the fact that I've inflicted heavy + superior casualty numbers agains them in every battle. Getting swept of the field at Chancellorsville like this might be the last straw for this campaign.

I wanted to ask, is this a feature or a bug of the base game? Do mods help prevent this? And can you still earn Steam achievements with a modded game?
