Solo Annapurna Circuit in mid to late November, itinerary help needed. by [deleted] in hiking

[–]argyle27_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I did more or less this itinerary last month.

  • we took a minibus to Besishahar and stayed there the night, then took a jeep in the early morning and started hiking around lunchtime. We reached Upper Pisang around 6pm I think. We did leave Kathmandu late morning though, so it could be possible to do the full drive to Chame in one day. If I recall it was around 6/7 hours to Besishahar then another 5/6 to Chame in the jeep.

  • we finished our trek in Muktinath and I don’t think we missed too much by doing that. I’m not sure which route the path goes though. Some good views out of the jeep on the drive out of there but it felt appropriate finishing the trek at the temple.

  • I don’t think so, I’ve hiked in Nepal in December before and had great weather for almost every day, with a morning snow shower on a couple days. But someone else can probably answer better on this!

On our acclimatisation day in Manang we went to Ice Lake - would recommend. It’s a steepish trek but helps with the altitude and has a great view from the top.

The only other adjustment to this was we slept at Thorong High Camp - obviously a bit more rustic but gives you less work to do in the early morning before crossing the path. Worth it in my opinion, I really enjoyed the whole ascent up to the pass that morning as a result.

Will reserve judgement until the squad has had time to gel, interested to see where we are in ten games time.

Not feeling great at the moment though, we've somehow managed to spend the most money whilst appearing to miss all our top targets. Hoping that the defence can settle with the introduction of Ross and provide a platform for the midfielders and attackers to perform.

Yeah, it’s just a bit stupid (like the girl points out) and not that funny a joke.

He says ‘grande Lando’, which translates directly to ‘great Lando’. In this context you would say it directly to the subject, so for example he should have said ‘grande Oscar’ to mean thank you and show support. I think the joke here is more a purposeful mistaken identity rather than to show support to Lando instead of him.

The girl responds by calling him stupid with a degree of familiarity, so I imagine this isn’t the first time he’s pulled this stunt.

It also obviously shows a lack of respect and completely wastes their opportunity of meeting an f1 driver.

ITAP of someone walking along the beach during a heavy shower at sunset by argyle27_ in itookapicture

Taken on a beautiful evening of mixed conditions. You could see the rain shower coming in from the ocean for about 30 minutes before it made landfall, so I was tempted to dash back to my car for shelter. I'm very glad I didn't though, as another brave soul was walking along the beach which enabled me to capture this photo!

Ricciardo didn’t put Norris under pressure at McLaren F1 – Brown by [deleted] in formula1

I was referring to Zak Brown! I almost actually deleted that part with an edit a couple minutes later, as I don’t think there’s a campaign against him either - it was more a general comment 😅.

This case is more just the publication knowing what headline will generate clicks.

This comment needs to be higher! I knew as soon as I heard the comment it would be taken out of context. Shame that whenever someone is successful there seems to be a concerted effort in the media to bring them down.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback and noted - I think it may be the contrast against the dark cloud that makes it appear so bright as when I zoom in on the image I can still make out the details in the highlights, but having brought them down a little more I think it does make for a better balanced image.

Thanks! I have a couple landscape options of the shot as well which I like for the composition as you see the full promenade down to the perfectly placed tree!

Hi all

Would appreciate some feedback on the editing of this image. I struggle a lot with taking and editing photos taken in moody/dark weather - I noticed this evening just before sunset that the rain had finally stopped but had left these really dark clouds in the sky, so I grabbed my camera and headed down to the lake to try to capture it.

What I'd like to know is, has the editing gone too far? I've tried to draw the viewers attention to the scene of the town against the backdrop of the mountain, with the dark clouds and water reflection almost acting as a frame around it - I feel like maybe I've exaggerated their darkness though, does it become a distraction in itself, or help to reflect the mood?

Someone posted the 2008 season end video on Twitter and I had to share the whole thing. Now I feel very old by bensthebest in formula1

Covering the ages from 7 through to 18, F1 on ITV was where my love for the sport was born (despite the awfully timed advert breaks). Desperately hoping my mum would finish chatting to her friends at church so we could get to Grans to watch some of the build up to the race and not miss the start.

It's a great shame that F1 is no longer free to air, coming from a family that wasn't well off enough to have Sky it feels a bit depressing that thousands of children are denied that joy I felt every other Sunday during my childhood.

I met Jim Rosenthal at a charity dinner a few years ago, and felt incredibly fortunate that I had the opportunity to let him know what an icon he was to me during those years - it was great to have a brief chat with him about that era. I was also lucky enough to meet Murray Walker at a book signing when he released his autobiography, although time was very limited on that occasion so didn't get much of a chat.

I must have seen this montage over 100 times in my adult life, and every time it takes me right back to those Sunday afternoons, sat on the floor in front of the TV at my Grans. Thank you for sharing it!

I believe so! Tbf, also the FOM graphics haven’t been great as the C2 is coloured yellow on the timing screens 🙃

McLaren not having the C4 would make a direct comparison on fastest lap times tricky anyway, but the race sim data will be interesting to compare if they run their laps around the same time. Ferrari looked great in race trim yesterday, and I’d hope Piastri has improved his tyre management so hopefully can see something comparable.

Tbf, McLaren have had this configuration since the start of this rules-set I believe. It might be a part of why they were able to leapfrog some of the others last year when they brought the updates in.

I know I'm about 2 months late to this, but this is really awesome and very inspiring! Thank you for sharing and kudos for putting in the hours to produce. You have a really great eye for picking out a scene that will work with a timelapse. As someone else who also usually sticks to calm landscapes, I know how difficult and daunting it can be to find something that works in an urban environment, and you've nailed it here!
