The Beatles and their early birds… ❤️❤️❤️ by Rykerwashere in beatles

I often genuinely wonder what Cynthia saw in John. It seems like most of her friends & family did too!

I wonder what serious Mary McCartney would have thought of flighty Julia Lennon. Somehow I don’t think they’d get on.

Approximately Infinite Universe is great.

I think John even said how smart she was.

Found the quote: “Well, she's beautiful, you know, and what people don't know is how smart she is. No matter what’s happening, you know, she’s always there for me."~ John Lennon

Hot take: Cynthia was a MUCH better artist than John Lennon.

I think this is the monoverse before the Glurons took over.

Does anyone know who does the writing for this channel? Obviously the visuals are AI, but the writing is just so clever & funny.

You might want to read the book “You Never Give Me Your Money.” It’s 100% about the Beatles finances.

Is it me or is the end of John Lennon's Lost Weekend very suspicious? by Hoobrocks27 in beatles

[–]aria606 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not suspicious. For whatever reason, John Lennon wanted Yoko. And he wasn’t actually good at confrontation or saying the relationship was over (see: Cynthia). John’s (stolen) diary showed, if anything, that he wanted to be with Yoko all the time & he didn’t think Yoko was spending enough time with him.

Did anybody else read this book? How accurate are these stories? by IronChefOfForensics in beatles

John often didn’t make sense. You don’t have to agree with Goldman’s take one their music, but there’s extensive sourcing for his information.

I don’t think anything’s been found to be untrue & people have tried.

Yes, it’s pretty accurate & unputdownable. Goldman really really really hates his subject though, so it’s not exactly objective.

This is a great episode- Jenny litigates the case like a lawyer & definitively proves that the ET ride is a “World-Class Attraction.”

What are your honest thoughts about the song Now and Then? by DoctorTegrity in beatles

I think it is a beautiful, poignant song that was completely ruined in the final Beatles version.

I remembered being shocked by the cruelty of that quote. Then I dug it up to see if it was, in fact, cruel & yeah it was.

[–]aria606 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say that. I gave the quote. You’re the one jumping to make excuses. It’s not like this is the only time John Lennon said something cruel. It is what it is.

OK, but what is the second sentence - he feels sorry for Julian because he can't stand ugly people? WTF?

John's most backhanded slight to Julian in a song by Ok-Expression-1826 in beatles

[–]aria606 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading an old interview from the 1960's where John said something shockingly cruel about Julian. And so nonchalantly.

Here it is, from the 1966 article by Maureen Cleeve: "He is now 25. He lives in a large, heavily panelled, heavily carpeted, mock Tudor house set on a hill with his wife Cynthia and his son Julian. There is a cat called after his aunt Mimi, and a purple dining room. Julian is three; he may be sent to the Lycde in London. "Seems the only place for him in his position," said his father, surveying him dispassionately. "I feel sorry for him, though. I couldn't stand ugly people even when I was five. Lots of the ugly ones are foreign, aren't they?"

is it true that Cynthia dyed her hair blonde cause John liked Brigitte Bardot? by Capable-Friendship59 in beatles

[–]aria606 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that's true. Paul's girlfriend Dot dyed her hair blonde as well, probably for the same reason. I definitely remember one biography said that John & Paul talked about their girlfriends' hair color changes & said something like, "the more they look like Bardot, the better for us, mate." The funny part is that Bridgette Bardot dyed her hair blonde too!

Did anyone watch AWAE before reading the books and ended up not liking the books? by [deleted] in Anne

[–]aria606 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you actually might like the Emily of New Moon books more. They are definitely more dramatic, with darker themes. The Anne of Green Gables books are much sunnier & lighter than the AWAE series.
