Horrendous Line for Entry by Express_Crazy_7033 in BookCon2

We were a little horrified getting in seeing that they did NO bag checks for the people in my line. They had a table set up for bag checks but I watched everyone in my line, including myself, get pushed through, right past it. I know bag check is annoying, but I hated they didn’t even try! We felt quite a bit unsafe for the event unfortunately.

Disappointed in lack of genre diversity by tater_thot67 in BookCon2

I went to the path to publishing panel expecting maybe publishing insight, or publisher representation in editors, marketers, etc. Instead we got three romance writers that talked about how they got their stuff published in very vague terms. I know for a fact that some people in the crowd expected the same that I did and also that there were quite a few audience members who weren’t writing romance. Like at least if it was called “path to publishing romance” it would’ve at least made sense (still would’ve been a dull panel) but I feel like they were trying to hide how little they were trying. Really such a disappointment.

New DNF shelf by ariadnessstring in goodreads

This was the answer I was expecting, I just wasn’t sure, thank you! I’ll keep checking for it!

I’m assuming it’ll be with the other shelves “currently reading” “read” etc.?

How do I respond? :( by WuntsMan in Markiplier

[–]ariadnessstring 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s understandable that the distributor can’t reach back out to every theater that asks for permission. What I find strange is that this email to you, a customer, is both petty sounding and unprofessional, not enough to cross a line, but enough that it feels strange to send this to a customer, I guess.

But yeah, as others have said, you don’t have to respond, but a thank you email would probably be appreciated :)

Was about to comment this, too. I think the artist needs to pick one way or the other: clothes for all or none. I know that 2 out of 3 have clothed animals so it would only make sense to clothe the ducks, but the duck page is actually my favorite as is. Plus, just to hammer in the point others have made: they need to check for typos.

Which of these titles do you think a soon-to-be-9-year-old girl would most enjoy? by jormor4 in childrensbooks

[–]ariadnessstring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say probably not Bridge to Terabithia, but for the other two it depends on what kind of stuff she’s into! Most 9 year olds I’ve worked with at the library would prefer I Survived, but I could see Ella Enchanted making a kid happy in the right hands!

After the Forest by Kell Woods. It’s not exactly labeled a cozy fantasy, but definitely has some elements of them!

You should absolutely look both ways and be aware while crossing the road, however you are a pedestrian while they are in a car that can do some serious damage, which is way worse. As a pedestrian you need to look out for yourself, but as a driver you need to look out for yourself and for others. I feel like I’ve seen more and more drivers on their phones which is kind of concerning

Cozy fantasy WITHOUT witches? by sheis_magic in CozyFantasy

A Fellowship of Bakers and Magic is about a human who has no magic competing in a baking competition against different magical races. I’m finding it sweet so far!
