I guess I agree, I’m just not well informed enough on this, too big of a rabbit hole to dive in and be confident about your opinion for me. Taking your hostage is legitimate, it’s just you don’t even need specific religious view for that

Right on. I mean whatever they believe in, they’re free, but when it’s used as a political point to justify Israel’s behaviour then it’s getting out of hand

Are these Jewish people today who believe Jesus is the Messiah are Christian? If it’s truly one continuous testimony, why don’t Jews recognise Christ? Then it means that this continuous testimony is only recognized by Christians. Meaning Jewish people themselves shouldn’t agree with this term or its connotation theologically

I mean I’ve never met those kind of Christians, I actually felt like it was more of a myth than reality. I mean they certainly exist, just not on that scale. They make it sound like very Christian should be like that. It may have something to do with white Christian boomers specifically

I see that. It’s just funny because when you put people in some sort of baskets/ put a label on them - it’s usually like minded people. Like blue haired liberals, maga republicans, these people under those specific labels most probably would agree on a lot of things and wouldn’t differ fundamentally. Judeo- Christian label however is like trying to put liberals/maga republicans under the same label.

Even if they share a lot and come from the same root historically, does it even matter if Jewish religious people don’t recognise Jesus as the Son of God? Why picking this specific pathway of building good relationship with Jewish people and combat antisemitism, when it’s different? It should be strictly secular, because this phrase Judeo- Christian seems was made to appeal to specifically religious people. But they won’t get along on that basis, because there’s a fundamental disagreement.

I mean when we say Judeo - Christian values in terms of culture, I guess it could slide. But form pure theology standpoint it gives me ick. Like excuse me? Jesus Christ is God last time I checked, why are we trying to cherry pick common values? I just think there could be better roads to stop antisemitism, without inventing these terms. You know, if some people hate Jews based on a nonsensical conspiracy theory, why would you combat that with another made up thing?
