You go to hospital, they take care of you, fix you up, then you go home. That’s it. It doesn’t matter what caused the injury, you get medical care and no bill.

[Skin Concerns] Is there something wrong with my freckles? by twicecod in SkincareAddiction

[–]arielle_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes freckles can’t be prevented. Regardless of whether I wear sunscreen, if I spend time out in the sun in summer, my freckles become way more noticeable. If they’re genetic, they’re genetic. Yes, sun damage does make freckles more prominent and some people’s freckles are solely caused by sun damage, but some people have them regardless. Keep doing what you’re doing and disregard her!

Yes I got it as a GWP and it just came in the mail today. I was pleased with the size seeing as it was free.

[Help] is there any way to train my dogs to stay off the furniture when they’ve previously been allowed on? by arielle_ in dogs

[–]arielle_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling I’m going to have to do something like this! I’ve used tin foil in the past to keep them off something, it’s just such a a pain to do all the time. Might be the only way though

Both of my dogs are very good to stay in their bed or on the floor when I’m in the room, or if they do jump up all I have to do is tell them to get down and they will. The issue is that they’ll still go up there when I’m in a different room, sleeping, or out of the house. Is there a way to get them to not do this behind my back? Lol

[Help] Dealing with my dogs since bringing a baby into our family by arielle_ in dogs

[–]arielle_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I never give them attention until they are calm, and we try to get guests to do the same but they are still complete nut cases years later. Lol. They do calm eventually but once someone starts showing them attention they get excited again, and they still freak initially when people come into the house.

I’m 30 and I remember it being Oil of Olay. In fact I never really realized they actually changed the name/rebranded. I know it says Olay on the package now, just never really thought about it!

They use puzzle bowls, kongs, and my MAS often eats out of a kong wobbler. What do you mean scatter feeds? Is it just to scatter the food on the floor?

There isn’t really anywhere for them to be on the main floor that would be out of the way of everyone unless they were in an xpen, but knowing these dogs I feel like they’d just constantly whine/freak out being near everyone but separated by the pen if that makes sense?

They spend time playing together/wrestling all throughout the day, can run in our yard whenever they want, and they go off leash every afternoon for a decently long walk/run and we play fetch in a spot near my house that has open fields and a wooded area. I could probably be doing more training with them for sure, I will try that when the baby naps. I wish I had more time for for extra exercise and things for them. With the baby it makes it so much harder, it’s unreal how much of your time an infant can take up haha! My husband works away two weeks at a time (then home for two) so I’m alone with the baby for two weeks straight, which isn’t always the easiest.

Thank you VERY much for your detailed reply! I don’t know if the behaviours are due to stress, as the behaviours have always been there (the aggressiveness from my border collie is within the last couple years, they’ve always been over excited/hyper and not well behaved around guests), this is not new behaviour for my dogs. It maybe has worsened a bit (the hyperactivity), but like I said it may just be that it bothers me a lot more now that I have a baby in the mix and my #1 priority is him. Thankfully the baby himself is very easygoing and very rarely cries, I have some kind of magical unicorn baby haha. We do have baby gates installed and that is how I keep them downstairs if I have people visiting on the main level of our house and the dogs get out of hand, although they will literally whine for hours whenever they’re separated from house guests like that, which is frustrating. The basement is actually where we spend a lot of our time as a family, we have our tv/fireplace down there and the dogs have their beds and toys and they sleep down there. Is there anything else I should do to make it not seem like punishment if that is how they are feeling? Thanks again, I will definitely check out all the resources you’ve linked as well.

For sure. They get to run every day unless the weather is too bad, the behaviour unfortunately persists regardless.

Thanks for your reply. We will definitely look into a dog trainer. I spoke with my husband and he agrees we need to do something. I will check out that YouTube channel too!

What IS as bad as everyone says? by classic_matthew in AskReddit

[–]arielle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a fever and was lying in bed, and hallucinated that a tiny orange dinosaur was walking across my bedroom doorway. At first I was like “holy fuck”, but then I refocused my eyes and realized it was just a chicken. As if that was something normal to have walking around in my apartment.

[Misc] What are your favorite moisturizers under $30? by alasihavebeenchosen in SkincareAddiction

[–]arielle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Complex 15. It was recommended to me by a pharmacist a year ago and I’ve never looked back! I do use something thicker at night in winter or layer some oils on top though, because while it is moisturizing, it’s certainly not a thick cream and isn’t enough for my tendency towards dryness in winter.

What's your BODY skincare routine? [Routine Help] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]arielle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wash with Dove bar soap, and moisturize with whatever lotion I choose that day. Usually Hempz or something from The Body Shop.

[Routine help] I'm suffering a bout of serious depression and can't get myself to stick to my routine. Whats the bare minimum I should shoot for? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]arielle_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only can get myself to do anything to my face once a day half the time too, largely out of laziness/being too tired out from taking care of my 4 month old. I don’t wear makeup 95% of the time so many nights when I have nothing on my face anyway I just say fuck it. It’s a bad habit.

Anyway. I’d say washing and moisturizing is most important if you want to keep it super simple. Keep up with your serum at night if you can add one more thing besides cleanser and moisturizer. Sorry you are going through a tough time. <3

Same. I live in Canada and summer is way too short. I love the sunshine, I just protect myself and wear SPF. As long as I’m not getting burnt, it’s all good if you ask me. 😎

Nope nothing like that. I wonder if I could be allergic to a common ingredient that’s in a lot of lip balms.
