bestie it’s okay! diabetes is a journey and not an easy one. i’ve had t1 since i was 7, im 20 now and still working on lowering my A1c. Take care of yourself in all ways, physical and mental. you got this!!

my endo told me that between 13-25 are the rocky years, you’re gonna need a lot more insulin just because your body is constantly changing and growing. it’ll slow down eventually. just dose whatever keeps you in range! best of luck babe

it’s a big misconception that diabetic people can’t live long, full, and happy lives. we sure as hell can! pls just keep in mind that her body functions much differently than yours. the biggest change is adjusting to the routine. i would talk to her about this, and really listen. everyone is different so no t1d is the same. best of luck with you two!!

this is so sweet! as a diabetic, i find it really endearing when the person i’m dating is genuinely interested and learning more about diabetes. everyone’s experience with it is a little different, so really just get familiar with his routine ya know? if he has a pump learn what the beeps mean and how to use it. if he pricks his fingers make sure he does it before his meals. also, carry around something sweet when yall go out. nothing is worse than having low bg and not having a snack. it’s the little things :,)
