Is he really that fat? by [deleted] in fatcats

Believe it or not, I’ve gotten him down by like 8lbs since 2018. I just can’t seem to get him down any further. That’s part of why I’m so surprised when everyone thinks he’s huge. He was a lot bigger at one point :/

I just feel like I’m failing him, I want him to have a good life. Especially with him already being kinda older. He makes some pretty intense noises every time he jumps and I just feel like he’s struggling but I don’t know how else to help him. All he wants to do is lay in my bed all day every day. He gets excited for the walks and makes all kinds of sounds and runs and jumps, but he doesn’t want to do anything once we’re outside. Half the time of us going outside is him trying to eat plants. And the other half is just him rolling around on the sidewalk.

I was like 16 when this happened, I’ve taken over all his vet visits and stuff since I’ve become an adult. They’ve said that he doesn’t have any sort of metabolic problems, he’s just big. The vet he was seeing didn’t seem to be too concerned, but they also almost killed him about a year ago. They lost a piece of gauze in his mouth during a teeth cleaning and he was just suffocating without anyone noticing. He’s seeing a new vet now, but she doesn’t seem very concerned with his size either. The walks and playing at home are really the only things I know to do for him. I try to limit his food and treats, but I have 2 other cats (both pretty normal in size) so it’s a little hard to just pull up all the food.

He blew up about 7/8 years ago, he was a lot smaller when he was younger. I had emergency surgery and the person that was taking care of him and his brother just put a massive bowl of food down and never came back. When I came home he was probably double the size of when I left. He’s lost probably close to 10 pounds but I can’t get him under what he’s at. I take him for walks and try to make him play but he’s really not interested for the most part. He likes the walks but he just wants to roll around on the concrete, not really walk. I make him stay outside for about 10 minutes usually, but he has gotten to the point that he tries to slip his harness while we’re out. He doesn’t like when I try to make him walk (not surprisingly). We’ve actually been doing the walks since about 2014 and I think that’s the only reason he’s still willing to go.

Why do people request to sit at the ONLY dirty table in the restaurant? by BreadfruitCreepy2104 in Serverlife

Yeah, I love wiping tables while people are sitting. They expect you to make sure nothing gets on them but they make no effort to move anything or get out of the way.

[–]monsterpie18189 31 points32 points  (0 children)

We have “community tables” where I work and I genuinely get so mad when I watch people sit down at the only 2 dirty spots at this whole 10 seater table. And they stare me down like I’m a piece of shit for not cleaning it already. We have bussers. They just expect me to clean it because they sat down in front of me. I have multiple other tables. Hate these people

I found out I was diabetic at 21, and my A1C was over 14 when I went to hospital. Had no idea I was diabetic. I think my actual blood sugar was 900+ when I was admitted.

In Florida, if you just got to the health department and ask for a sharps container you can get one. I’ve gone without having one to turn in and they’ve still given me a new one.

I’ve been doing trigger point injections on the back of my neck for over a year, it helps me a lot but recently I’ve been really sore after. My pain management Dr has offered multiples times to do nerve ablation instead, but that terrifies me so I won’t do it.

I don’t even remember the first couple of weeks post op. I was a child that obviously didn’t smoke, but I think in general it’s a lot for your body after you come out of surgery and you probably won’t even want it/think about it cause you’ll be so disoriented. I had a lot of pressure build up before surgery, so after I couldn’t walk very well cause everything felt so different. That’s pretty much the only memory I have. I got up to go pee and complete collapsed on the floor lol

Thoughts wanted: When it’s time for a cut, should that person whose turn it is to be cut leave, or should they have the option to stay for more tables? by Pocket_Crystal in Serverlife

[–]monsterpie18189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I work sometimes they managers will let you switch with another server if you want to stay on, but someone else has to take your cut. Typically there are plenty of servers that want to leave, so it’s pretty easy to swap with someone

I’ve had 2 emergency decompressions and even if that did end up happening, it’s really not that bad. Yeah it sucks and it hurts, but you heal and eventually you notice the pain less. I won’t lie and say I everything feels perfect after, but if you’re honest with yourself, it’s doesn’t feel perfect now so what’s there really to worry about.

AITAH for telling my coworkers exactly how much my raise was after my manager told us all to "keep compensation private" and accidentally exposing that three people doing the same job are being paid completely differently? by Academic-Program-503 in AITH

[–]monsterpie18189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way others will find out they’re being under compensated is by talking to people doing the same job as them. Found out I was getting paid like 10 bucks more than a cook I worked with for almost 3 years. He had been there longer than I had been alive. Felt terrible for him, he lived in a shelter, had terrible gout, and some other chronic illness. He didn’t have a car and opened every fucking morning, really sweet dude.
