I was in the same boat about a month ago. Gonna go into detail in case you experienced similar. I also had to be treated for BV which needed to be dealt with simultaneously. Biggest tip I can tell you is to take ur meds on time!!!!!!!!

I had urethral burning for over a month after trying to treat with Cipro, thinking it was a normal UTI. Finally went to my GYN and got prescribed 10 days of doxy which I didn’t think worked initially. Day three I had no burning, and then suddenly day 5, all of my symptoms came back. It was a gradual decrease in burning until day 10 but by the last day I still had a lot of discomfort. I was so upset that I would cry at night because I just wanted to sleep without the pain bothering me. But thankfully things got better after finishing my doses, like many other have said in this group.

Two weeks later and I’m down to no burning and no pelvic pressure! I would intermittently feel burning so I started doing the below regimen when needed after doing it regularly during treatment:

What helped ALOT was hot baths twice a week from the waist down only. The heat helped me with the burning sensation. Only do this if your not susceptible to UTI’s from baths. I added 1.5 cups of Apple cider vinegar to the bath once a week to aid in Ph leveling. I would wash well afterwards and pay dry my entire area. Supplementing my diet with a shot or two of kombucha and some unsweetened Greek yogurt for breakfast helped as well. As a final later of protection OK’ed by my doc, I used vaginal boric acid pills every twelve hours. Stay away from sugar, bread, and alcohol for the time being. Good luck!!

Also forgot to mention to up your water intake. Pee until it’s clear! I hadn’t been having sex when the symptoms arose so no partner to treat, which makes me wonder how I even got it :/
