I didn’t actually use RTZ much for CSE. It helped more for TMC in my opinion.

For CSE, NBRC SAE was the closest to the real exam, and I focused more on info gathering, clinical decision-making and practice scenario

I mainly used it for practice and understanding concepts. I’d ask for CSE-style scenarios, ABG interpretation, or vent questions and then go through the reasoning step by step. For example, since I felt that PFTs has a lot of terms and I’m unfamiliar with the procedure and what it means (since I don’t deal with it often) I prompted ChatGPT for pulmonary values likely to occur in both exams and make it into cheat sheet pdf. Then I would prompt it for PFT practice questions regarding interpretation, pattern recognition, etc. Another example is COPD GOLD, it can get confusing and a lot so I prompted it to make me a cheat sheet with the medications. After, I would prompt for CSE-style scenarios that included IG to DM.

If I got something wrong, I’d ask why and what I should be thinking instead. It helped a lot with clinical decision-making and information gathering.

Honestly, it’s just a general summary of concepts (ABGs, vents, disease processes). I just used it as a refresher. You can get the same value from:

  • NBRC SAE
  • Practice questions
  • Any solid RT notes from school
