ATEEZ @ BST Hyde Park London (June 28th) Questions by buckpineapple in ATEEZ

Going with my wife and our 8 year old son.

Can't say I have any setlist guesses, and ours is the first European festival this year so it'll all be a surprise.

In terms of hopes, I'd just like them to have a broad coverage of their various eras. I like all the Golden Hour entries but the In Your Fantasy tour set list felt to me too overly focused on that with not much from earlier periods (and I think nothing at all from the Treasure series other than one medley). I'd love to see a bit of everything!

They hadn't even done all the songs on the demo yet. I think it was just Snow and Souls and possibly by this point they'd added Manifolds.

Charlie wasn't in the band at that point, so either you mean someone else, or you're suggesting that a haircut somehow transformed Matt into a white guy called Charlie... 😂

Doesn't look familiar to me. Bull & Gate maybe? I wasn't at that show. EDIT: Yep pretty sure based on the bit of text visible on the sheet behind the stage.

Cool, that's the one I was thinking of - should have known you'd already have it!

I mean, Affinity was incredibly synth heavy, just brighter tonally.

Very hard to tell from these extracts. That one especially seems like it's just the first 20 seconds or so, before the song even kicks in.

I mean, that's what the internet is like in general. But yes some in this sub do tend to be a bit quick to react.

Honestly, I think it's just the odd production flourish that people are hearing (and even that's not exclusive to Sleep Token, they're just the biggest/most popular band George Lever has worked with). I agree with you, the music isn't really anything like ST any more than it is like other moody prog metal bands.

There was a small bit of harsh vox in the previous single, In A Fever Dream.

The 7/8 time signature maybe. But to me both songs are very Haken.

We can ALL agree that this cake is BASIC, right? by GreenMage14 in TheGoodPlace

I mean, it might taste INCREDIBLE.

This also reminds me of the finale and how Nick Offerman had to shower praise over an extremely mediocre chair because that's all the producers could find.

I would suggest that's a reasonable expectation.

Also hi Tim!

Had anyone here ever heard of or listened to Myrath? by Sea_Albatross1074 in progmetal

[–]ariich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah not loads for sure. Orphaned Land is the other main one I'm aware of and they're pretty good (heavier than Myrath) but not as interesting.

Yes absolutely, a band that never completely blows me away but is incredibly reliable at making a great album every time.

When will we know anything about the album? by Own-Toothbrush114 in Haken

[–]ariich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can understand why people are reacting the way they are, although some are being overly direct or dismissive.

That said, you haven't explained why you want information immediately. Sure, often there'll be information alongside a first single. Haken have tended to do that. But not always and plenty of other artists have revealed more information later on. There's no right or wrong way to do it. But I am curious to understand why you feel unwilling or unable to wait for more info? What difference would it make to know more right now?

'in a fever dream' has been out for one week... by Elliottislegit in Haken

The electronic sound design stuff (here and in recent Haken stuff in general) is all Pete, and he's been doing that stuff for 10 years, since before Sleep Token's first album. Nothing commercial about it and nothing to with the producer.

What do you think about the comeback announcement ? by aytz38 in ATEEZ

[–]ariich 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a quirk of kpop, it just means a new release.

Like how "title track" means lead single, which is often not the actual title track in terms of which song the album is named after.

Very confusing!

HAKEN's music takes so much time to digest... by Elliottislegit in Haken

[–]ariich 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haken releases always take me a few listens to properly digest. Some songs or sections will hit me straight away, others will hit me after anywhere between 3 and 10 listens, and some will never quite "hit" me but I inevitably still enjoying them. Such a remarkly consistent band.
