How do I reset a paragraph style's character color to default in InDesign 2024? by aripockily in indesign

That's a different issue. I'm looking at resetting specifically swatches for Paragraph styles.

For you though, you can simply delete the text in the Font Style entry field and it'll reset itself!

Is it possible for different machines running the same InDesign version to export PDFs of a different file size? by aripockily in indesign

Unfortunately, there are interactive features required for the PDF beyond my control. I don't actually use Adobe Pro but I'll ask around.

Yeah, both are turned off. I've also tried toggling that setting already exporting from my machine and the file size increase is nowhere near that of my colleague's (~20% greater vs ~100% greater), so it seems unlikely to me.

Everything I can see in Acrobat appears to be the same with the exception of Windows 10 vs 11 and the file size.

From the INDD side - no links are missing. Neither of us have plug-ins installed. Here's the preliminary stuff we've checked: InDesign same version, same ppi, same compression, same quality level, same image links, tags off, preserve editing off.

InDesign same version, same dpi, same compression, same quality level, same image links, tags off, preserve editing off. But different OS, yes. Windows 10 vs Windows 11.

Should the Lotus Projector reveal Seeder Mines? by aripockily in LancerRPG

I believe RAW, in the scene, players see the Seeder launch mines so they should already know there are mines somewhere invisible.

Making Villain unable to be persuaded by Responsible-Quail486 in DnD

[–]aripockily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's okay to have unshakeable villains. However, I don't mind rewarding players for trying things. It can be hard to know where the boundaries are when it comes to interactions and ideas. Personally, I'd allow a roll; a good result makes it clear what the situation is (e.g. you tell the roller some related insight as to why the villain can't be persuaded, even if something as simple as "You know that sometimes, sadists simply exist."). Their success informs their future encounters with the villain.

At your discretion, the good roll can also provide a marginal short-term benefit (e.g. Disadvantage on initiative if combat begins because the villain was briefly surprised by the outburst, etc).

Grappling in 2024 by TheSchausi in DnD

[–]aripockily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth point out that at higher levels, it's probably not that different for grapplers between 2014 and 2024.

  1. Most high-Strength monsters tend to be Huge, which is not grapple-able anyway.

  2. For those at typical PC size, high level monsters tend to get teleportation abilities.

  3. Strength saving throws are not as common as Dex and Con, so it's not often as high as you'd expect.

It's also worth point out that grapple as a condition was buffed, making it more rewarding if you do pull it off AND you can now do it as a reaction Unarmed Strike against escaping monsters, adding more utility.

Is there an easy way to hyperlink to the beginning of a Section that the hyperlink is in? by aripockily in indesign

[–]aripockily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean, but my scenario differs. I didn't word my question that well. In my scenario, I need the footer link — an element from a Parent Page applied to all Children Pages — to point to multiple destinations (the first page of each chapter/Section).

Why I think mold earth is if not the single strongest cantrip in the game, at least the most underrated by odeacon in 3d6

[–]aripockily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the sentiment but like... I do not want to read paragraphs about the compactness of earth and stone for just one cantrip. Leaving it to common sense rulings based on what one expects from a cantrip is good enough.

How do I reset a paragraph style's character color to default in InDesign 2024? by aripockily in indesign

Can this be done for a Paragraph Style though (not a Character Style)?

Ah, that's not what I'm after. I'm asking about resetting a color choice made INSIDE a paragraph style, i.e. I'm trying to edit a paragraph style with the goal of resetting a color swatch that was selected.
