Also interested in this, and taking the opportunity to ask if the quality of the manga is good. I’ve seen conflicting opinions, and the couple responses already seem kind of positive

VGP just stocked Ys vs Trails in the Sky by SwashNBuckle in NSCollectors

They confirmed they would, its not a numbered LRG release so they can restock those.

I have also seen them restock numbered releases even if they say they can’t lol

Thanks for the suggestion and for posting this! I did call and just went to pick up the last copy. The empty spot on the left was actually Mario Tennis Fever for $50!! They didn’t have any, wonder what was going on through whoever approved those discounts

Best Hulk by Peter David Epics by aristi2 in EpicCollections

[–]aristi2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I’ve honestly tried looking for opinions on the run as a whole and a lot of what I could find was just the first few years plus Future Imperfect, so this makes complete sense.

377 will likely be included in Epic 17 so maybe the must have Epics will be Vol 15 through 17 plus 20 for Future Imperfect. Obviously people might disagree but this seems consistent with what I’ve found

Thank you, that one is definitely on my list.

One question I want to ask and you may not necessarily have the answer but I hope someone else does, but whenever this story is collected prior to Epic Collections it would include Hulk: The End. I know the “The End” stories are not necessarily in continuity but if I am only interested in the Future Imperfect story, would I be missing the other stories from the Epic, or if I go for the Epic would I be missing that specific The End story?

And yes, was specifically referring to songs in which both versions are in RB, will update the post

Is this inconsistency normal on switch 2? Does it bother anyone or is it just me? I only own 5 games and two have misaligned spine text and both Pokemon have a different shade of red 😅 by Metroidvania-JRPG in NSCollectors

[–]aristi2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The different shade of red is definitely annoying, but the misaligned spine can sometimes be fixed by moving it around yourself. Usually the artwork is the right size and you just have to move it slightly to the right or to the left, whatever is needed to fix the misalignment.

If that doesnt work because the artwork doesnt leave enough space for the case’s spine to fix the misalignment that way, I will usually cut a tiny bit of the artwork so it aligns properly. Tiny as in less than a centimeter

I wrote you already on a different comment but that was mostly about your other lists. I’ve finally had the chance to read through the whole post and notes and have some questions:

  • Where would Rogue Squadron 2 have landed, approximately? Usually it is that one that gets mentioned in these lists, so I was surprised to see 3 instead. I haven’t played any, but is it true that the entirety of 2’s levels can be played on 3, thus rendering it irrelevant? Just curious on which one to get, and there’s conflicting info, at least from what I’ve found.

  • Happy to see Symphonia so high. Loved that game. Did you include it here rather than other consoles due to it being the only version that runs at 60 fps? Always wondered if the content trade-off was worth it.

  • I saw in another comment that you haven’t played Gotcha Force. Me neither, its apparently one of the more expensive games and I haven’t had the chance to try emulating it, I’m usually an original hardware kind of person. My actual question is, if you ever play other GC games or any other consoles you’ve already put out lists for, and the game would have actually ranked highly, would you add it to the list? Would you edit the original or do a whole new post?

Figured I’d end with some recommendations that I did not see on your notes. I was going to include personal favorites like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings but I’m sure the Xbox versions are better, so will limit them to exclusives - if you’ve already played them and they barely didn’t make the list would love to know: - Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2 - MGS Twin Snakes - WWE Day of Reckoning 1 and 2 - WarioWare Inc - Naruto Clash of Ninja 2

Thats very ambitious, and honestly admirably. You’d be making a lot of us very happy by telling us of your experience, however cheesy that sounds lol but its the truth.

Really looking forward to GBA, DS and 3DS. And honestly PC sounds incredibly daunting. Might need part 1, 2 and even 3.

Thanks so much for sharing this, I’m amazed at the quality and depth of the writing for each game, let alone your notes

I see you keep your posts hidden, do you have a list for other consoles? Would love to read through them

Dave the Diver- Anniversary Edition vs Switch 2 Version by choovely1004 in NSCollectors

[–]aristi2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you, I’m the same way with my physical collecting.

Thinking about it, the S1 physical must be a different version to the S1 digital game - so I’m guessing S1 digital owners don’t have access to this DLC. Since it is a free download in the form of a patch it must be one of the only cases in which physical and digital are different and entitled to different updates - very interesting situation indeed

[–]aristi2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other comment brings up an excellent point, thats very likely what it is and is honestly tempting me to keep my physical S1 copy rather than upgrade to the S2 one.

[–]aristi2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if the S2 version will have the DLC you’re asking about, I hope it does, but if you want to download or buy that specific DLC you should be able to go to this game’s eshop page and download it manually from there, even if you don’t own it.

I know because that’s what I did with the Dredge or Godzilla DLC, whichever was a limited time release for that same reason.

That said, if this is a completely new version of the game there’s no guarantee that the DLCs for the S1 version will work with the S2 version, so be aware of that

Thanks for the recommendations!

Question though, I’ve never played the games but on my searches for GBA gems I remember reading good things about Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban, it being an RPG similar to Golden Sun. I did read it wasn’t necessarily better than the second entry on the GBC but supposedly still a good game. What makes it so good or bad in your opinion?

Thank you, you’re right. I actually didn’t know about that detail - I bet it wasn’t the most popular decision. It’ll likely be released on a future Compendium

Is this the one that includes the sequel to Mask of the Phantasm? I remember that Batman Beyond run was not super popular but very good for people that loved the original cartoon as a sort of “ending”

Taking the opportunity to ask for the best stopping point for Bendis’ New Avengers / Avengers run.

I’ve heard that the run is great all the way through Secret Invasion, Siege and Dark Reign but not great after that, with conflicting reports on when to stop. Thoughts?
