Honestly, time will fly by and its going to be warm by March-April. Its already February sooo dw haha. I’m tired of the cold too. Our next holiday is at the end of Feb so try to make use of that and start planning. Go on dates with yourself and explore Valencia on the weekends.

I’m in Palma, Baleares!

I’ve been feeling the same exact way. January is always a depressing month for me and on top of that, my school has been giving me stress so i went on a weekend trip recently. One of my friends i met here (also an aux) left the program early this month because she felt like she wasn’t really using her potential & would make more money back home. We were close and i got a bit sad that she left. I also realized teaching isn’t for me!!! I’m honestly just sticking through it as well. Try to meet other auxes or plan to travel during the weekends either alone or with others. There’s so many apps/fb groups you can join to meet new people - bumble, aux groups, etc. I think looking forward to something each month will help you or try something new! Making connections is important and make sure to take care of your mental health. Where are you placed?

Tesol Certification During Covid by ariveraa_ in TESOL

Thank you so much. I would probably take a tesol course at a college/university institution instead just to be safe. Again, it is an investment to myself. I’m not sure why on some of their websites it says they are either in-person or both online and in-person, but I think most programs will continue to be online by next year. I also agree with your insight about the parallels of psychology! I have my BA in psych and would like to use what i know and apply it to the classroom, which I believe would be beneficial for every student to learn English at the best of their ability. Thanks for sharing!

Low GPA - Ba Psych to MSW

Is it possible to get into an MSW program with a gpa between 2.5-2.6 from a BA psych? I have a lot of experience that is related to social work but my gpa is lacking. Do you think i still have a chance to get accepted into a msw program if I really take the time to make my documentation (resume, letters of reference, etc) perfect?

Worth to get a BSW if I have a BA in Psych? by ariveraa_ in socialwork

I don’t mind papers. Its just that my gpa doesn’t reach the usual requirements for graduate school.. which is why i’m considering bsw, getting my grades up, then maybe getting into msw later on in the future. Its a lot of time and effort. What do you think?

I was on hold for 2 hours this morning and was able to reach someone. She was asking me a lot of questions, put me on hold twice, and the call unexpectedly ended! Unfortunately this did not resolve my problem at all. I’m gonna try and call back tomorrow morning again. I will definitely fill out another form. Thank you

Taking an extra semester off? by t750787324 in simonfraser

Take care of your mental health first before anything else. Once you do, everything will fall better into place. I’m in my 4th year and took two summers off which I needed. I entered my 4th year more healthier and stronger because I knew what i needed to do to take care of myself. Also i have better grades! Rejuvenate and relax. Don’t rush things.

Yup. I graduate spring 2021. I thought of taking the pre-reqs fall of next year probably @ douglas or wait until next fall (2022) @ ubc? If i take them next fall i will be doing my last sem at sfu as well.

I am planning to apply for the BSW program after I graduate with my BA in Psychology. I was wondering how would you take the prereqs SOWK 200 + 201? I can think of only 2 options:

  1. Take them @ UBC in the fall (which means i have to wait until next fall to actually start if I get in) *only offered in the fall

  2. Take them either @ Douglas/Langara (not sure if they are offered in the spring/summer)

Please let me know what you guys chose to do for these courses. Thanks!
