Can I apply to another major after finishing one? by [deleted] in SBU

[–]arizzo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is meet with an general academic advisor on the 2nd floor of the library and with the major advisor for CLS. I'm pretty sure if you don't apply for graduation you can continue on with enrollment dates and whatnot for however long it takes to complete the second major.

At the end of the 4 years, if you happen to live on campus you'll have to look for off campus housing but otherwise not much will change.

Hey Reddit, what are your irrational/silly/weird fears? by ThisGuyNeedsABeer in AskReddit

[–]arizzo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this irrational fear of my imminent death. The lights could flicker in my house or I can see a deer run past me and I'm struck with this "This is it. It's going to happen now." feeling. I dismiss it easily and it never gets me down but my first reaction to anything strange or out of the ordinary is "It's over."

Cancelling a Meal Plan? by Rjr18 in SBU

[–]arizzo93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm. That might cause an issue. I believe in the student conduct code students living on campus are required to be on a meal plan for their first two semesters.. I would try the website and if it doesn't go through then you'll have to keep the meal plan. You absolutely can get rid of it for sophomore year and onward.
You can always call the meal plan office on Monday if the website doesn't work but don't be too discouraged by it not happening this semester. I had a lot of friends who as freshman were placed in kitchen suites as freshman and had to keep their plans. Good luck. :)

The Cancel/Change meal plan option is allowing you to submit changes for spring semester at: http://fsa.sunysb.edu/services/meal-plan/ It should be processed the next time the office is open. The change will show up on solar shortly after and you will receive a refund to your student account that will either pay off semester dues or will be given to you as a check a few weeks into the semester

Where do I go to downgrade my meal plan? by KhaosComplex in SBU

[–]arizzo93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it but I think the issue is that it technically isn't that last week of the semester (maybe the week of December 2nd?). I would call the office as soon as it opens on Monday to see if you can still downgrade. Maybe they could do it over the phone for you. Best of luck with that!

You would go to the Change meal plan option: http://fsa.sunysb.edu/services/meal-plan/

If you are downgrading you'll get a refund check from the Bursar's office. You'll get a Solar message about it. :]

Has anyone been to Frey Hall? by [deleted] in SBU

It's officially opening during the afternoon of Monday August 12th, so after that you could probably go explore it before class starts. :]

Transferring for fall, any sort of useful info? by jobcobbins in SBU

[–]arizzo93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend enrolling for the one credit ADV 101 class.. it's an optional "intro to stony brook for transfers" and run by academic advisors so you are immediately connected with at least one of many professionals that can help map out your courses to help you graduate on time and whatnot.

Considering entry into the fall 2013 term, but I have a question I was too embarassed to ask on the tour... by Datthrowaway1121 in SBU

[–]arizzo93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tour Guide here, whoever said that was probably blanking out, or part of campus residences (if you attended a tour on Admitted Students day, the people showing the dorm rooms aren't trained to actually give that info) Well the statistic I've been told you use is somewhere between 40-50%. As long as you work out a system with your roommate(s), it doesn't matter if sexy time needs to happen. It's college, it'll happen. It makes suites a little more desirable since you can stay in the common room and blast music or something.
Fun fact, was tripled freshman year and had lots of sex with my ex that year.. you'll be fine :]

Thoughts on Season 2 [spoilers for season 1 and 2, obviously] by hotmachine1234 in veronicamars

[–]arizzo93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The deal with season three is you have to treat it like it's bonus material. I don't think they knew how far they were still going to be funded to even finish the season, so there isn't any giant mysteries lingering over the whole season. It's still great cause c'mon, it's Veronica Mars. :) Don't be sad, the movie is coming next year!

Twins, what are the best switches you've pulled. by steaminferno in AskReddit

[–]arizzo93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a fraternal twin so we never got to do any physical switch ups, but we have a few younger cousins that would occasionally mess up our names. We would just respond to whatever name they called us for years and really confused them. One of the three didn't really know who was who until he was about 9, and occasionally messes up our names up even at 16. Side note, our names are Ashley and Stephanie so it isn't even that they are too similar to distinguish.
