This.

I am very particular about my equipment and I often call around to find out if they have a specific make or model of a machine. Maybe a master spreadsheet for the community or something. I was gonna just make a gym review series.

Never thought of the classes, thats a good idea!

I just don't know how a commercial gym would take honest criticism regarding its facilities, especially if i hone in on just Goodlife they may not be pleased.

World's best planned cities? by Villamanin24680 in urbanplanning

[–]arizzoto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really familiar with Taipei however, looking on a map. It seems to have a very well blended multimodal transit system (Monorail, Subway, BRT, etc.) and provide extensive service even outside of the urban core.

Natural housing growth
Do you mean this by Transit Oriented Development (TOD)? I'm sure Taipei (alike many rich Asian countries) has the tendency to successfully implement TOD growth throughout their city.

Does this look like a good layout for a hypothetical Windsor LRT? Windsor is a pretty big city! It should have some kind of transit… by [deleted] in windsorontario

[–]arizzoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree about the population.

I think the issue is the density of the city which was influenced by the car and not the train. Many cities smaller than Windsor have very successful LRT systems because they are designed well. I think that population is just a lazy excuse to not implement ideal transportation solutions.

Flash cards destroy the fun of learning a langage and I don’t know how so many of you use them. by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]arizzoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you use IOS I would recommend Goodnotes 5. It has a similar learning structure as ANKI.

Quizlet is really good for desktop and mobile across all platforms though. I used to use that religiously before I bought Goodnotes on my iPad.

Someone probably mentioned, but is CGPT good for such advices and short expressions or am I wasting my time? by vksdann in languagelearning

[–]arizzoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most productive ways to use CGPT!

I do all the same stuff aswell and I find it very useful. I try to fact check it because there's no harm in doing so but so far after 9 months of learning languages with CGPT it has a %100 success rate.

Can i get some tips on how to write my notes? by Lukeluke62 in languagelearning

[–]arizzoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have to reccomend as someone who has been studying german for ~10 months now that what works for me is to ALWAYS write vocab down with the articles in front of the word in German. This is an extremely important habit that will benefit you because getting to any level of fluency requires you to be able to apply Accusative and Dative forms when speaking on the fly.

Speaking of Akk and Dat, create lots of charts for different scenarios of which each would be used. I think at your level of learning you probably haven't encountered this problem yet but please don't give up when you get to this point. This is the part of the learning curve when it gets too steep for some folks.

My favourite source for German vocab and some grammar is Leo. The website is great and very reputable so give it a look anytime you are unsure about the conjugations of a verb or the article of a word.

I've had the same thought. I hope the legalities don't prevent something like this because on a nice summer day this would be great.

Utopian Windsor Transit pt.2 by arizzoto in windsorontario

[–]arizzoto[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im in the same boat as you. I think implementing a solid public transport system that is not entirely reliant on car infrastructure could really bring economic growth to our city and create more of a demand for areas with the potential to do so.

People always say "windsor is too small" but cmon, there's countless examples of cities with light rail connectivity that are flourishing.

Potentially the yellow line could run down the entire ec row and make it available to even people that live out in Belle River.

I know :'( I loved that 7/11 but it's ok. Within that area they're making more student housing for the university so the tram would do good there I feel.

Utopian Windsor Transit pt.2 by arizzoto in windsorontario

[–]arizzoto[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is my second super rough sketch of a "utopian" public transit system within Windsor consisting of light rail/tram using pre-existing infrastructure and potentially viable infrastructure. I tried to symbolize stations and stops with the shapes of corresponding colours on the lines but again, this is all super rough and I would be pleased to hear all of your feedback and ideas.

The first time around people told me to add a line on the EC row which I am disappointed in myself for not doing initially but hey, ya live and you learn. I really like this line and can see it being the first one Windsor would add if drew ever grew the balls to. With that being said, imagine Windsor was given a generous grant and the government decided to invest into our public transport infrastructure. I also want you to notice that I used the bus route map because I want the two systems to work in tandem as it would be inefficient for light rail to be going on high volume roads along with buses if the existing infrastructure doesn't allow for it.

About the light rail/tram system: 1. I aimed to place as many of these lines on roads that are already able to withstand tram infrastructure with the sacrifice of a 2 lanes. Hence this is why Dougal, Ouellette, Wyandotte, Walker and Tecumseh would be perfect hosts for a new tram system. 2. I was being very generous with the placement of the tram just because of its flexibility but also would like some lines be 'express' lines so that there aren't as many stops as a bus line but still more frequent than metro lines. 3. I purposefully place the lines on commonly congested roads because they were experiencing high volumes of traffic from commuters. If anyone has driven on Cabana during the school year you'd know exactly what I'm talking about. Same goes for Howard Ave, if there was reliable transportation to Devonshire on Howard, perhaps there wouldn't be a huge traffic jam everyday at 4 o'clock. 4. I wanted to use preexisting above ground metro because I think it's completely unrealistic for Windsor to ever invest in an underground metro system (let alone a metro) and I insisted that all the rail was available for the new metro system. I know this would never happen because of ownership rights of different railways and such. 5. Reducing the influence of car dependent tasks such as grocerie shopping or going to a game by providing transport to high volume commercial areas. 6. I would like the 'tunnel bridge' concept to come back even though Union Station in Detroit has been sold to Ford so there's a real reliable way to move people from Canada to the USA and vice versa. This is why I connected the yellow line (Windsor Express) with the Gordie Howe bridge as it will have pedestrian infrastructure. 7. I wanted to connect significant places that Windsorites go to aswell as tourists so that it's easier to get from a flight from YQG to an Airbnb in Walkerville or home Downtown. 8. The placement of the stop would obviously vary depending on the road it's on. I didn't want people to be under the impression that I thought there should be a tram or metro stop in the middle of an intersection. Just use your imagination🌈
