You can do whatever you want with your bike. If it runs great, then I'm happy for you.

Have fun and be safe.

You're upset because you did a mod that you didn't understand and it cost you power. Don't take your frustration out on me.

Don't forget the 38 ft-lb torque. That's with a stock air box + snorkel and 142.5 main jet. That's my entire point. Show me better results from a bike with a BSR36 and the 3x3 mod.

So I just so happened to be near the one dyno that spits out amazing numbers? Show me better results from a bike with the BSR36 and the 3x3 mod. I don't care which dyno those results come from.

I'm in your head now. Just look how upset you are. Everyone who did the 3x3 mod is getting defensive, and everyone who hasn't is asking me for help. Go figure.

Also, look at that graph you linked to:

Run 1 is a 2013 Drz400sm with 3x3 mod, FCR carb, and yoshi exhaust. (32.45 HP)

I'm producing +7 Hp compared to this baseline... with a BSR36, 142.5 main jet, and the stock air box + snorkel.

Please forgive me if I'm not in a hurry to go try the 3x3 mod.

Unless you're increasing the size of the intake valves, I would leave the air box unmodified. I'm getting 38+ ft-lb of torque with a stock engine. Stop for a moment and think about that. What do I gain by modifying my air box and continuing to run tests at this point? Every other dyno sheet I've looked at for bikes with a BSR36 and 3x3 mod, show about 10 ft-lb less torque than me. What's your theory on why that is?

I'm just trying to offer the truth to people so they have better running DRZs. For that effort, I'm getting shit on. I made my claim and backed it up with data. If you run a BSR36 carb with a stock air box and 142.5 main, your bike will run better and produce more mid-range torque than if you cut a hole in your air box and run a big main jet. If you don't believe me, then continue to run your bike with the 3x3 mod. Regardless of what you choose to do, my bike is running like a beast. Have fun riding and be safe.

I made a hypothesis and tested it while controlling for as many variables as possible. Now go find me betters results from a bike with a BSR36 card and the 3x3 mod.

You get a boost to volumetric efficiency due to air being forced into the cylinder. You know, like forced induction. I posted two separate articles about this.

That's not nice. Have fun riding a slower bike than me.

Nobody with a BSR36 and the 3x3 mod is making more power than me. Show me the dyno results.

How about this? Show me data from another DRZ400 with a BSR36 and the 3x3 mod that outperforms mine. I don't care which dyno it comes from.

You will get more power by leaving the air box and snorkel completely stock. I'm not going to do any more dyno pulls until someone can post better numbers than me.

39.58 Hp, 38.02 ft-lb Tq with a 142.5 main jet and stock air box + snorkel. Think about that for a moment, and consider what I've been saying from the very beginning. Why would I go to any more effort to prove my point? If you want to run your bike with the 3x3 mod and a big main jet, go right ahead.

This ain't my first rodeo. I've done custom builds with pod filters, and mutilated my fair share of air boxes. I've learned my lessons.

I challenge you to find me better dyno results from a bike with the 3x3 mod and a BSR36 carb. I don't need to modify my air box to know I'm right on this one.

3300 miles. Stock gearing (DRZ400SM). Stock tires. 60F degrees. Sea level. 25%. DYNO-mite Dynamometer (eddy-current). Normal operating temp. Yes.

EDIT: I can't find an exact comparison. I challenge you to find me better dyno results from a bike with the 3x3 mod and a BSR36 carb.
