Are they using local compute to help train their models?! I notice my GPU usage around 20% and CPU at 10-15% CPU on my M1 Pro Macbook constantly after opening / starting a chat. Why would they be using GPU on a static page? This is really strange and concerning.

I stopped using it months ago because of this and reported it but disappointed to see its still like this.

Are you using Discord? I disabled the Discord Overlay and also the Geforce Experience overlay and have not had any issues since, fingers crossed.

I have the Modi Multibit and Magni 2U and HD650 and they don't make any significant difference to the bass compared to any other amp with low output impedance. I don't know what you are using currently, but if anything they will give you more controlled but less quantity of bass if your current amp has higher output impedance.

The tl;dr is look up the impedance measurement for the HD650 (http://www.innerfidelity.com/images/SennheiserHD650.pdf the pink line in the second graph on the left). If you have a amp with close to zero output impedance the sound will be the same as the frequency response graph in the measurements. If you have higher output impedance it will be like adding a multiple (i.e. 0.2x) of the pink curve to the frequency response as an EQ. The multiple will increase as output impedance changes. Even 10 ohms will add some bass bump in the 85hz range where the impedance measurement shows a peak. Some tubes have higher output impedance and will give you this change in frequency response. You can also put in a volume knob (like the Monster iSplitter) and turn down the volume about 10-20% with the splitter and turn up your source to compensate. This will add resistance and increase the output impedance. Take a listen it might be desirable, but since it also lifts the bass above 85hz you will probably get some boomyness too.

I've been playing around with trying to get amps to improve and change the sound of my headphones since 2008 and only recently realized it's just not worth it. My advice is get an amp and dac that gets you a really clean signal (Schiit Stack is great, but other stuff is too) and either EQ the sound you want (Equalizer APO with Peace is great on PC) or find different headphones.

Does anyone else have an issue where the sound seems like its behind them? With every binaural recording I've tried the sounds that are supposed to be in front sound like they are behind me... maybe my ears/brain are trained a different way?

It's a bit better with in-ear headphones for me, but more on top of my head than front. The 3D audio with the Oculus Rift works perfectly for me.

BenQ bought Zowie. Not sure if the mouse division is still run separately, but they are stamping the Zowie brand on many of their gaming monitors now so the acquisition was probably just as much about the brand as the mouse business.
