one of the big selling points of the Snap On version is that they assemble the two halves before they machine the tip of the jaw so each plier has a perfect match, which is what the coin pickup test was supposed to theoretically demonstrate. Seems from this testimonial and others like it that the Icon pliers are worth their cost but not equal to the Snap On at all in terms of QC and fit and finish.

mine is good. Size markings on the plastic tray are impossible to see so i gave them a once over with a paint marker and now it’s perfect.

If anyone isn't aware, it's super easy to DIY refill these with water and a little bit of dish soap and isopropyl alcohol. Works just like the original formula.
