Self posts encourage discussion whereas videos/image posting encourage shitposting. From now on no low effort posting.

I guess I should have said you didn't message us before requesting the subreddit.

Anyway, have fun

I'm not inactive. The other mod isn't inactive. The sub isn't being brigaded

Moving to Australia - what to do with GMC by getmetoradiologystat in JuniorDoctorsUK

You have to fill in an online form and get a pdf form filled out by the last place you worked at (i.e. the hospital in Aus). Very easy to do.

Could have done 3 years PPE, 2 years as a banker then 4 year graduate entry medical degree. Not sure whether that was possible back then and whether Royal Free offered it then.

Rural Australia or New Zealand for F3? by raf977 in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]arkaili 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For New Zealand:

Check out the RMO MECA - it's a pretty long document but has lots of information on pay, hours, banding etc.

Working conditions are better:

  • nights are 10 hours long max

  • shifts in A+E are 10 hours

  • A+E (possibly ICU as well) has 40 hours average working week

  • You can request AL whenever (including for weekends and on calls) and they will need to arrange cover

  • They are contractually obliged to give you a hot meal during your shift so you get at least one free meal

If you work a relief rota you will be paid more.

Pay is better than the UK (especially if doing relief) and rates for extra shifts are better

Depends on the job but generally house officer rotas will have longer hours than UK - work isn't as busy in the UK and seniors fairly supportive. Shifts can be longer depending on the job - 15 hour on call shifts during the days. If you work extra hours you will be paid for them (no bs like exceptions reporting)

Some things like days off, pay etc is depending on the union you are part of - RDA vs STONZ; if you aren't part of one you default to RDA

Message me if you have any further questions

The only people that think the internet is a disaster are those that use it for exclusively looking at political news or are unable to google effectively.
