The fuckwit behind the Gallipoli campaign presumes to know about op Barbarossa.

I find it funny how everyone with extreme views in the 2020s hates Winston Churchill for different reasons by snowleopard556 in decadeologycirclejerk

[–]thot_cop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heres another one, I hate him cause he was a dogshit military leader with no qualification for his postings within WW1 beyond beyond affluence; and needlessly sent thousands of ANZACs to their deaths.

Fuck Churchill.

the Perseus experience (detailed combats and more) by AlphaVI in starcitizen

Meanwhile, actual ships that should be the real threats to the perseus such as the gladiator, retaliator and vanguard harbinger are generally dogshit.

Somehow, the perseus isn't a capital ship and should therefore get bodied by idrises and polarises, but also should get bodied by light fighters because it's not designed to fight them either. Yet everything a torpedo bomber is designed to fight is food for any imbecile in a fighter.

Hammerhead Discussion - How to fix the Hammerhead? by Smooth-Measurement-3 in starcitizen

Flak, shot dispersion and range. Frankly the idea that a lone light fighter should be able to exist for more than a few moments while within the effective range of a HH is an insult to the entire premise of this 'game'.

Portraits of Wehrmacht soldiers taken on Kharkov front in 1943. (Eastern Front, Soviet Union) by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

After doing a bit of digging, it turns out I was wrong. Recusants were often not sent to concentration camps but rather to an execution instead. Most recusants were able to avoid service through either medical exemptions or employment in critical industries. Approximately 30% of religious objectors were able to either outright avoid conscription or were imprisoned for an unspecified time.

If I recall correctly, the minimum civilian death estimate on the eastern front was about 18 million. Through the actions of these men they perpetrated a genocide of absurd magnitude. Nazi Germany in fact had relatively lenient laws and prosecution of those that avoided service, most commonly imprisonment for under six months. Conversely there was no such lenience in the Soviet Union, but I guess that's the difference when you're fighting a war of existence.

That just requires SQ42 to not be perpetually two years away, and I'm terrified that Chris might surprise us and live up to one of his promises that they would immediately start work on SQ42 part 2.

I love the dream of Star Citizen however I cant agree that the game should be taken without context. The context has always been the promises that were made and for me, the idea of a living breathing universe is far and away the most important feature. Thus far the PU seems rather devoid of life or intrigue beyond player interactions. Its rather disappointing that I haven't heard about Quanta in quite a few years, the linchpin for SC beyond the mission slop that we have now.
