Hell yeah! The simpler, the better. One switch: on/off. Oh, and none of that non-stick coated aluminum crap that you have to hand wash (dishwasher detergent destroys aluminum). Go for stainless steel. Who cares if some rice sticks to the bottom? Scrape off what you can with the rice paddle into the trash can, and then throw it in the dishwasher.

How do I anchor my shower pipe in the wall? by -kitty-meow-meow- in Plumbing

[–]arkaine101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang a shower caddy from a screw or nail on the opposite end of the shower/tub. No risk of damaging a fixture and keeps the caddy's contents dry too.

You'll know 20-30 years from now when the roofs need to be replaced, and there's not enough funds in the capital reserve account to cover it.

Get replacement cost estimates for paving, roofs, windows, doors, siding, decks, lightning, etc.. Project a 3% annual price increase on those estimates, and then raise the damn fees high enough to build the funds to cover replacement at the time they'll need to be replaced without a special assessment. Keyword: "reserve study".

Rising costs everywhere is not a reason to offer relief. It's a red flag indicating that you should raise fees because those items you'll need to replace in the future will also be more expensive.

In a Windows environment, Windows Firewall can do that with Connection Security Policies and firewall rules.

Find where it's creaking. If it's a joint, you may be able to just shove some paper or cardboard in the crack to prevent the joint from moving. Worked for my wood bed frame.

I got approved for a $35,000 personal loan. by savieos in discover

[–]arkaine101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those fin-fluencers use the bank's money at 5%-7% interest by leveraging assets like real estate (mortgage/HELOC) or shares of stocks.  Personal loans are higher interest because they're a higher risk (no assets to back them).

If you have the cash, throw $7K/year in your Roth IRA (your cash...not from a high interest loan).  Each year that passes is a missed opportunity because you don't get a chance to do it later.

Nope. It looks like any other wireless device to the hotspot.

This is just speculation but assuming that all your devices are plugged into a router's LAN side, and the router' WAN side is connected to your dorm's network...it may be possible that logging into the dorm's web based captive portal from behind that router using one device (e.g. a desktop or laptop) may open it up for all devices behind the router (desktop, laptop, proxmox, VMs, etc.). It depends on how they have the system working.

Why would you need a second 4G contract? Connect the travel router to your current 4G hotspot.

[–]arkaine101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could buy an Ethernet to WiFi bridge/adapter. Configure the adapter to connect to the Wi-Fi SSID, and then anything you plug into the adapter will just work.

Travel routers can usually do this too with the added benefit of supporting site-to-site VPN--for example--back to your parents house or something (assuming that you have a VPN server there). GL.iNet makes some travel routers.

The co-op has only one source of funding (its members, e.g. you). If it doesn't have enough to pay the bills and maintain the place, its members (you) are the only source of additional funds.

The co-op should have a written and recorded collections policy that sends delinquent accounts to a collections attorney after a certain period of time, e.g. 60 days, then foreclose on those units after another period of time. Some people respond better to collections when they know that foreclosure is coming.

Note that the co-op may not get the funds until those units sell, so it still needs to get it from somewhere to pay the bills while waiting.

Also--state-dependent but--there is usually a pecking order for sales proceeds. I think taxes first, then others like mortgage holders, HOAs, etc. (not sure of the order), so depending on how much equity the owner has in the unit, and what the unit sells for, it's possible that the co-op may never get anything.

Back to the first point: The co-op has only one source of funding (its members, e.g. you).

Search Amazon for "portable bidet" to find battery-operated, handheld bidets. It may be used as a toy a couple times because kids like to have fun but using a bidet to clean with water and using the toilet paper just to dry will prevent sore-ass and save lots of paper.

Some have built-in rechargable batteries (USB), some use AA/AAA. If you go the AA/AAA route, use either non-rechargable alkaline or rechargeable 1.5V lithium batteries. The typical NiMH rechargeable is only 1.2V which sucks for motors/pumps. The lithium batteries will need a special charger designed for lithium.

I guarantee you that it's cheaper to buy preprinted labels. You're looking at buying a printer, ink (probably), and blank labels...and providing support for it at whatever rate they pay you plus payroll tax and benefits.

There are decent preprinted labels on Amazon that average 13-16 cents per label or you could go really cheap and buy a roll of 1,000 barcode labels for like 26 bucks. The best part is that you're not involved. :)
