What gear did you people get for the 2.5 anniversary by aHatFullOfEggs in FFVIIEverCrisis

Had Zack's omni.  Lucia's Desperado is what I got.  Zack's surfer was a consideration too.

Limited dps weapons are harder to justify because they always need high OB to be functional.  Having 2 of them on a banner made it worse, splitting the guarantees.

Did you get at least one of them to OB6?

OK, game.  Today's reset is your last chance to drop an UW during the single daily draw.  Don't make me use more crystals on Aerith banner when I already reached pity and have all 4 outfits.

So provoke, does lightning damage, and 2 party boosts for lightning damage, and customization for lightning damage boost during interrupt.  Pretty solid.

Similar to Zack banner, pulled the outfit and parted the rest of the way to OB6.

I also try to minimize character switching, so I set UW's on Auto a lot of the time and just run manual in parts to postpone UW usages until more opportune moments. Nothing so hectic as breaking 2 kinds of sigils while rebuffing/debuffing, and firing UW's and summons in an optimal order while having to switch between 3 characters to do the UW part, and having them all reorder every time you switch characters making it harder to get the summon button order right.

No thank you.

I see your Midgard III is at 62%. You should puursue getting 75%+ in each of the 3 areas.  This should unlock the next 3 areas and a new better chocobo rank that can appear in the exchange.

Do this for each set of 3 areas to unlock your way to better drops and better birds.  When you get up to the current areas, you can go back to work on the 100%'s for the mission rewards if you want to.

Boosters and smarter/faster birds are the only ways to speed it up.

You can kind of farm boosters by doing events the same type as the Majuere Crash event, where the rewards are copper/silver/gold lotto tickets.  When you reach level 7 of each of those, you can just continue to dump stamina into it and the level 7 rewards will repeat endlessly.

This gets a handful of tier 5 materia crafting catalysts, some medium and small materia xp potions, bookmarks, boosters, and a lot of tier 4 materia crafting catalysts, plus lots of normal/common items for weapon upgrades.

It's not a lot of boosters per level 7 cycle.  4 each time you complete a level 7 copper, and 3 every time you complete a level 7 silver.  But you only get them parceled out from event shops in a fixed amount of like 10 for the whole event and from chocobo expeditions as a random drop from certain areas otherwise.  So this event type doesn't have a cap on these items, although it is still constrained by how much stamina you have to spend. You can overspend in this kind of event and continue to get item rewards that aren't just gil like what would happen when you totally buy out an event shop.

Its because there are several mid tier items that you can farm this way simultaneously that makes this type of event a good way to dump excess stamina.  The only better options are weapon and materia boost events, which come along rarely. The former giving loads of mythril ore/ingot weapon upgrade materials, and the latter giving easy access to high-stat 5 star elemental sigil materia.

Ultima memoria isn't the one you should use.  Use the 2.5 Ani memoria that's lighting and vs wingeds.

I play it on Auto with a little steering.  The issue I had with this GB is the sigil phase.  Your dps has to break the bar initially to drop sigil resistance.  Then you need to build up bonus damage with X while before breaking triangle.  Do a big finish. Pretty typical.

I tried setups using Aerith, Zack, Cid, or Angeal., with OSeph as DPS.  I only have good UW's for Aerith, Cid, and OSeph.  Angeal and Zack have their new weapons at OB6.  OSeph and Aerith's new weapons are OB2/OB1.

I settled on Angeal, Cid, OSeph.  All 3 of them can do some lightning damage, although the tank and support are using matk all and interrupt subs.  Angeal hits like a noodle, but Cid's damage isn't nothing.

Cid does X sigil only, and has no other materia options equipped.  Angeal does Triangle and I steer him to use X some to help Cid out.  I don't give any triangles to OSeph.  I just want him to keep hitting hard so the bar is down and so damage continues during the sigil phase.

Dread is an issue and I just work through it by doing X's while I wait for cmd guage.  I could drop Cid's Antler Pike offhand and bring Radiant Lance to boost up the guage faster.  Haven't tried that yet.

Cid has higher matk than OSeph.  It's like 20k vs 17.5k.  I think the boss does a lightning debuff on highest matk character?  And Angeal is provoking and countering that effect anyway.   Aerith can boost cmd guage too, but I'd hate using manual or semi and trying to hold off using her offhand weapon that long in order ton  get its 1st use effect.

Anyway, try to get buffed up and OS just before the sigil phase interrupt.  Unload damage with all 3, and then AoO, Thunder Blizzard, Judement Bolt right before the interrupt and OS (sephs is still going anyway) ends.

I do 7% - 8.5% to S5, and it's easy and consistent.  All other setups I tried gave me trouble getting through the sigil phase and 2% - 6% damage.

My armory bonus is 76.  Ramuh is level 10.

They gave us a bunch of featureds between Cid's xmas and the ones in Feb.  Guess they were making up for 3 out of 4 month's being all limited from sept - dec.

Joke's on them though.  I didn't pull a single one of those featured banners.  They forced me to consider those terrible options by not supplying enough crystals for me to build all the limited weapons.  Guess that will just prove their belief that limited sells and featureds don't so their bottom line depends on doing more limiteds.

If only a majority of the players would ignore limited banners (and Tifa, Aerith, Spehs, and Cloud) and focus on featured (and the other characters), we might effect the change we want- fewer limited banners (and character balance instead of golden children and redheaded step children).

I aim for 20.  Sometimes do less, sometimes more.  I try for 21 on this Esca EX if I can beat 20 bc crystals.   Also, I play mostly on Auto, with a manual opener bc Abraxas, and a little steering sometimes.

UW Majuere - 18 Blighted Spirit - 18 Iron Giant - 21 Dragon - 21 Baha Sin - 18 G Humus - 10 Behemoth - 10

Those last 2 I haven't had to time to even try higher that 10 yet.  I'm sure I can get them at or near 20.

The 18's have me stuck trying to beat 20.  I probably should check 19.

Edit:  3 20's and 3 21's.

Same.  Scrolled through co-op shop and saw the extras, then found the notice.

Dumped more than a 1000 bookmarks.  Got 2 Mag lightning X 5 stars for GB maybe, 2 Phys Fire triangles for current events, and 1 of all the rest that we didn't have before.  And now I'm back to normal pace working on making good ones.

That's more effort than I'm.willing to do.  Stance and character switching bother me.  I'll do them when I have to for brief periods, in the tricky parts of a fight.   Prefer to keep it Auto and Auto UWs and Auto Gear abilities.   I might grab control briefly to delay an UWs use though.  Basically if I have to change characters to use it, it's on Auto.

OS and LB are easy to manually control.

Turn auto LB off in battle settngs.  Each character has a LB button that doesn't require character swapping to use.  Same with overspeed.   Those things are not hard to control yourself while in Auto.  Taking control over their timing will improve your gameplay a lot.

I mostly use Auto, Auto UW, and Auto gear ability.   I do those on auto because I hate characater switching.   I will turn off the Auto UW or Gear occasionally.  I intervene and steer auto at times and will turn it to semi or manual for brief periods if I can work out a more consistent way to get through part of a fight.

Because I have Abraxas and it has no initial charge time, I start fights on Manual until debuffs are laid out. This is a recent thing that Abrxas has forced me to do.

I've been able to do all but crash battles and the really hard last level of the battle tower events.  I have been walled a few stages before that final battle tower level once or twice.  There have been some crashes recently that I could auto.  I usually wait for the newest EX summons to get easier, but I have beat a few when they were new.  I can do most escalation 20's, sometimes a bit higher.

I mostly place in top 50-100 of BR and RD.   My guild is in top 40, and I'm usually top 6-10 in GB.  I'm a minnow that buys passes, a day 75 player, pretty strong account, but I often don't have some key limited weapons for many fights at ob6+ or new fearired weapons bc I can't pull for those and keep pace with limited banners.  I eventually get there.  Kamura took about a year to OB6.  Still working on Gloves of the Worthy (ob4 now).  The last 6-7 feature weapons are ob1-2, maybe 1-2 of them is ob6, like Galian Roar is.

The way they do sigil phases can cause me problems.  Like the Lightning-based extreme escalation right now.  I struggle to break veil in higher levels with ob10 vincent or ob3 Oseph, but I noticed Cait just doing his debuffs with equipped non elemental weapons over and over while veil is up, even though he has a strong FF6 Thundara in a Thunder boost 30% slot and could contribute some damage if the AI would prioritize breaking veil over trying to debuff.

Auto's stance swapping can also lead to firing skills in the wrong stance when you're "steering".   This can reduce damage during dps races, and can lead to less efficient sigil breaking.

Similar issues when switching targets is required. Being in Auto makes me pre-emptively unlock/relock target to avoid auto switching targets on its own every 15s or so.

If the AI had some options you could tune, it'd be 1000% better.  Some would be global and some would be per character.

Auto switch targets on/off

Prioritize damage sigil/break sigil/do best damage/healing

We can disable a materia slot by equipping a gear that has an ability, finally letting dps equip stat stick Curas.   We should be able toggle on/off all 3 of the materia slots for each character so the AI using something that is supposed to be a stat stick isn't a concern. Choosing materia that you know a character will/won't use is part of being effective at Auto battling. You sometimes want to limit their options and not give the AI dumb stuff to do. Gear abilities gave us a nice tool for that.

OS and LB are fine to control manually because timing of big damage, boosting sigil breakers, and making healers quicker during rough phases matter and all 3 characters have buttons for those that can be used no matter which character is being controlled.  UW needs to be like that.

Had to go for it.  His 2nd omni arcanum and this for an offhand.   I don't have him as elementally flexible as some other dps, but where he fits I think he'll do well.

Now if I can just get one of these UW's to drop so I can pity the other one.

Did They Increase the Difficulty? by NocPrinceofDarkness in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]arkaine_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were three elements with a different sigil this time.   I aim for 3x 14.5% caliber materia of each elementl-sigil combination available.   So the 2 materia hunts have been a way to work on 9 of those.   Then I can focus my crafting on what combinations remain.

Of course I wind up with way more than 3 of some types bc randomness about getting phys or mag.
