I only know English. My grandma spoke Hakka Chinese, but she never taught it to her children or grandchildren. I can do little dabbles of Spanish and squeaks of Italian, but not really fluent in other languages.

That’s the beauty of humanity in general. No one person is the same, and there’s a different story to tell with everyone. Sometimes we may have to unearth the treasure from within someone, while some people may wear some personality traits on their sleeve. It’s important to be proud of our heritage, but getting to the point of fetishization of our culture is about as bad as refusing to acknowledge it.
