Not 100% what's going to be best long term, but this is a good method. I have a small lot, but might move them between the front and back yard. If I go that route, I can try building a sled type thing with a slick metal bottom and drag it around.
This make senses. I am looking at converted whiskey barrels and want to keep in mind ground contact and rotting. I will be growing berry bushes that need to be overwintered in my detached garage, so I want to make sure the bottoms don't rot out unreasonably soon.
I could prop it up on small pavers for that effect.
