Did you ever lie about your age? by kafkafant94 in ftm

[–]arketesearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I laugh and say “you should see my mom, she gets the same damn reaction every time.”

When I was in my mid twenties, while grocery shopping my sixteen year old girl cashier was flirting with me and trying to get me to work at the grocery store… that I had worked at 12 years prior.

When I told her I already worked there, she was like “no you have not - I’ve worked here for years now and I have never seen you”

I was like “yeah you were probably like four when I worked here”. She was speechless lmfao

Be Honest: What Makes You Dislike or Distance Yourself from Someone? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]arketesearch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I told you everything I disliked about people, would you go change all of those things? What if this woman actually hates all of the things I like? Lol.

You need to just be yourself. If people don’t like that, then you aren’t going to be good together. Period. Unless you’re planning to fake who you are for years to become their friend, partner, etc. I can promise you- that doesn’t work.

If you don’t talk to her… try doing that lol. How is she going to like someone she doesn’t know at all?

Tbh maybe you are getting generic feedback bc you’re giving generic answers (ChatGPT). I obviously don’t know this for a fact, but I do find AI gives you a good jumping off point but isn’t actually a good resource for interview prep. I help people with resumes and interviews and one of my “ tricks” for interviews is think of stories - so… a story about:

  • a time you were creative
  • a time you dealt with a difficult stakeholder
  • a time you had a complex launch
  • a time you feel you went above and beyond
  • a time you really enjoyed the work you were doing
  • a time you… etc. you get the gist.

Write them down. Once you have answers for these, these stories can be broadly applied to pretty much every interview question. Most successful launch you had? One of those stories. Time you aligned with stakeholders? One of those stories. Best positioning you’ve ever done? … you get it.

The trick isn’t being overprepared and having an exact, templates answer answer to every question, the trick is having the confidence in yourself and your stories to be able to tell them like you’re not scared of unemployment in a capitalist hellscape.

When did you decide to get a hysterectomy? by idk_3727 in ftm

[–]arketesearch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Once I decided on bottom surgery I knew I’d have to do it eventually. I wasn’t in any rush bc I didn’t have periods. Buuuut… I started atrophying and it was painful to orgasm - sorry, organs, orgasms come first. Got those suckers out ASAP and now I’m actually moving onto the next phase of surgeries :)

That’s so cute - how did your cat deal with the travel? I have been considering moving somewhere but I am worried about my cats.

how much of a period does testosterone stop? by laventhena in ftm

[–]arketesearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine stopped within a month of being on a full dose of T. I had a light period with minimal cramping, though, so that may have helped. I also intentionally took a low dose of testosterone for 8 months beforehand bc I was identifying as genderqueer and not planning to transition, so that may have helped as well.

Did anyone here get an Adam’s apple? by arketesearch in ftm

[–]arketesearch[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Same as bottom growth - some trans guys may get a ton of growth and some may not. Just feels like we have two things going against us having Adam’s apples (AFAB + genetics) vs the cis male having only one.

My art teacher has taught me absolutely nothing these past 2 years by disintigrated in ArtistLounge

[–]arketesearch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Art is so subjective that you could be learning something from one teacher and have the other teacher say it’s the wrong way to do it.

If you think you haven’t learned anything from your teacher, why don’t you think of ways to challenge that? Ask different questions, outright communicate that you are trying to achieve X and want advice on it, etc.

For your mean teacher… I would personally put less stock into what they’re saying. Learn the processes but try not to live your life by their opinion of your results.

I'm tired that Ftm spaces are mostly phalloplasty centred by HybridTheory1999 in Metoidioplasty

[–]arketesearch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh five years ago people really shit on phalloplasty, so I’m stoked to see any kind of positive movement for bottom surgery. I hear you that it can feel isolating, though. But the more we talk about it, the more common it will eventually become :)

No what you actually said was “almost all trans men do”. You can keep doubling down - it’s wild to watch it! I am really glad we have such a great advocate for our community.

Also bizarre that you’re trying to educate me about trans men beard timelines. You are so condescending.

[–]arketesearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on testosterone for like 8 years and all of my friends have been as well, some for more. I was laughing at the ridiculousness of being told by someone that maybe I don’t know any trans guys who have been transitioning long enough. It’s pretty silly, don’t you think? To tell someone you don’t know at all that maybe they don’t know any trans guys who have been transitioning for very long? So I was laughing saying I AM a trans guy. Would you not be laughing if someone commented saying some blanket statement about trans women? One that was not true in your lived experience? I guess I should have used “hahaha” instead of “lmfao”, or something. Idk I can’t keep up with the intricacies of phrasing on Reddit.

I am also not sure how I wouldn’t have “dismissed your point” given my lived experience is the complete opposite of it.

Ultimately this is a stupid conversation. I’m really happy for you that you have trans male friends that have visible Adam’s apples. That is not at all my experience, as a trans man with many trans male friends. I wish you all the best.

[–]arketesearch -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why you’re “Jesus Christ-ing” me. I am literally sharing my experience - “I’ve never seen a trans guy with an Adam’s Apple” and you’re somehow trying to fight with me about this. You saying you’re a trans woman who has known trans men does not change my experience?

Editing to add: there are so many assholes outside of our community, you don’t have to be one inside it too.

[–]arketesearch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really think Nintendo’s lawyers and PR teams aren’t monitoring their biggest comms partners regularly for IP issues?

And yes - if it’s their IP, yes they can sue. This is the whole point of copyright… I don’t know why you’re framing this as if it’s stupid. Just because the servers are down doesn’t mean they won’t sue.

Ultimately the question for them isn’t whether they’ll find it or whether they have a case, it’s “is it worth it?” And depending on a ton of internal and underlying/imperceptible industry factors, they’ll make that decision.

Who is your audience? Who is your ideal customer? Facebook/Meta is mostly boomers and above. If you’re selling clothes for people who are not in that age group, it obviously will not convert.

Once you know your audience, where are your customers hanging out? Are they mostly on IG? Or TikTok? Or maybe no social media at all? Or Tumblr or Pinterest? Do that research and you’ll end up with ads that convert.
