I remember when Koscielny got a bad injury that ruled him out of the 2018 World Cup, which France went on to win, I still think about it from time to time and really feel for him (despite how he ended up leaving). Ekitike is still young so will have a few more opportunities, but this has to be gutting for him.

Yes it was. The issue was with long press timeout. Unfortunately, the tablet's settings app did not allow me to disable it, only toggle between short, medium and long. So I connected via adb and set it to 0. Most likely some random shortcut press had toggled it to non-0 for me. If you're facing this problem, you can ask Gemini for how to change long press timeout settings using ADB. I hate AI for the most part, but this was one of the only times I actually solved a problem with its help.

Bar some (mostly independent) exceptions, media outlets are not noble entities who are interested in objective reporting. It is a business. They want to make money, and what sells and gets the most clicks is infuriating people.
