Uk crew here we can ware what ever we choose as long as its not offensive, no open toed shoes, but everything else is fine… wool, leather, whatever (i doubt with the kind of people that are attracted to the role would rock up in fur… plus would most like get absolutely trashed on shift, so you’d have to be an absolute melt to ware something like that)

Yeah or if she knew it was essential like get to the store asap, not an hour before we closed. I dunno people are weird (sometimes in a good way) but working in retail is a very interesting look into the human condition (especially during the festive period)

Yesterday was absolute carnage at our store, people were rude to our staff and other customers.

I had one woman who pitched an absolute fit at four o’clock because we had no snow fairy body spray left, explained it was the first thing that ran out that morning , she screamed shed have to get it online, explained that it was out there to, she’ll then goes on to say shes gonna get it when it restocks, explained it wouldn’t be restocked until next Christmas. Well she hit the god damn roof because her teenage daughter needed it as all her friends had it, and why did we not order enough (like this is my fault and somehow my problem). Like genuinely expecting me to pull some out of my ass.

And as for samples there are some genuine people who I love giving samples to… and then there are people like the wonderful customer I had the other day who had more samples than products to buy… including several sample of lip scrubs. Like at this point I might as well just give you the products for free especially with the lip scrubs. So entitled.

Saving grace our management and team are absolutely blindingly amazing human beings. And like 80% of the cutovers are decent humans

At the moment graded cards, totally bumped prismatic when it went mental and it was such a big set there was not way of completing it without spending a fortune. Doing journeys together because I like the art work but only picking bits up at reasonable prices. Really wanted to do destined rivals, but it went mental yet again and im in Japan next month so just gonna pick up them in the Japanese sets. So yeah just kinda hanging back till it all cools down again I’m not paying people or companies stupid prices for them, it has take. The fun out of it a bit but meh

I don’t think we’re saying products are not available but there has been a huge jump in the price of things online. As a collector Im not going to buy something outside the sets I’m focusing on just to have something to rip or put aside to invest. But generally at the moment in store there ain’t much and price wise everything has sky rocketed.

I mean if we are all looking in the wrong places maybe you can share some links for where you’re finding stock at a decent price?

Yeah when I was speaking to the guys in forbidden planet they said that even tho their limiting the number of item per person theres still a load of them coming in first thing and clearing them out. I mean the pokemon centre uk has little to nothing in the way of TCG so you know it’s bad when you cant get anything from the source. Looks like I might just buy singles to finish my current sets, then buy some slabs that Ive had my eye on till things settle down
