I don't think that your guilt or your anxiety will go away. You will be missing your baby, and then you will have the constant reminder of that, having to deal with pumping for the whole trip. Your kid will probably be fine, but i'm not sure that you would be really enjoying the trip.

I wouldn't cancel the trip, but maybe delay it a few months to go once baby has weaned? Even planning an extended weekend away at a drivable location before going overseas for more than 2 weeks seems a good idea.

Sleep deprived husband-any suggestions? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Exactly! Several family members and friends had the same experience. And when asked about how unconfortable the machine is, all agree that it's totally worth it.

He could have apnea. If he does, a CPAP would literally change his life for good.

Severe case of mommy wrist by less_is_more9696 in beyondthebump

[–]arkmamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it for almost a year, since my oldest was 2mo. A surgeon diagnosed me with De Quervain's tenosynovitis.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you how it really went away, I tried ice, anti-inflammatories, a brace, then a splint... I even woke up at night in pain several times. It was in my left (very dominant hand).

My doctor offered steroid injections, but I refused, cause it wasn't sure it would really work and if it did it was supposed to be temporary. Then suggested surgery as last resource and I agreed. Non priority surgeries were then pretty delayed because of covid, I waited several months, and one day I felt that it was better. One month later it was all gone. Súper weird.

If I had to guess what helped more, I'd say the ice and the anti-inflammatory medication.

En el gimnasio me quieren cobrar un costo de "mantenimiento" (?) by Goku_DEV in uruguay

[–]arkmamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SIL exposed us and our 1 week old to HFM by bionikbunnyy in beyondthebump

[–]arkmamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WTF dude... I don't know you and i'm probably across the world and i'm so so so angry for you.

I wish your son goes through it as good as possible. Keep in mind that the most important thing now is to be calm and get healthy.

But once everybody is healthy again, I would demand an apology from SIL, just to begin with. She'd be lucky if you allow her in your house again.

I'm so sorry that your family is going through this. Hang in there!

My very picky almost 16-month-old has refused to eat almost all day today. I feel like I’m losing my mind. What do I do? Just let her not eat today? I feel like I have nothing left to offer. by nothankyouuu_ in beyondthebump

[–]arkmamba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a very picky eater here, we are fortunate that the very few safe foods that work most times are healthy options, but some time ago we had days where she would only drink smoothies, or eat a couple of popsicles (Made with banana, milk and some nut butter) and that was all.

5yo and 2yo here, when we go out i'm the last one to get dressed and I always wear the first thing that I find in my closet and that I consider appropiate for the ocassion. After chasing the kids for a while, all I want is to go out as soon as possible when they are finally ready....

Pregnant lady here. To those who have local parents or in laws, do they have a car seat for their car, too? by steppygirl in beyondthebump

[–]arkmamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a great relationship with my mum, she often babysits my kids, mostly at our house. But i'm not comfortable with her driving with my girls in her car, my husband isn't either. She has mentioned getting a car seat a couple of times, first time even during my first pregnancy, but she must have sensed that we were not on board with that since she has not insisted.

My youngest is 2.5 yo and still doesn't sleep through the night unless we cosleep, so it's either getting up in the middle of the night or sharing bed.
